En oförglömlig utflykt: uppstigning med linbana och fyrhjulsdriven buss upp till 2850 m.ö.h. Vandringsleden börjar här, ett fascinerande stopp blir det vid några slocknade kratrar, utbrott och lavasprickor. Vi fortsätter upp till Barbagallo-kratrarna på 3000 meters höjd. Härifrån kan du se de majestätiska toppkratrarna. Du kommer att besöka den översvallande mynningen av utbrottet 2002 och härifrån kommer du längs sandstränder ner till Montagnola, varifrån du kan se Valle del Bove, en stor vulkanisk-tektonisk fördjupning. Ett hisnande panorama som få andra platser i världen kan förmedla. Återvandringen med linbanan låter dig ta en sista titt på detta förtrollande månlandskap, under totalt cirka 4 timmars vandring.

Vi startar från stugan till Etna Sud Alpine Guides, fortsätter med linbana upp till 2500 meter och sedan med ett terrängfordon når vi 2850 meter.
Det första stoppet kommer att vara utsiktspunkten Valle del Bove, en stor hästskoformad vulkan-tektonisk fördjupning som ligger i den östra delen av Etna, den är mycket viktig ur vulkanologisk synvinkel eftersom flera hällar längs väggarna. Under fina dagar är utsikten hisnande.
Ett mycket viktigt stopp är Barbagallo-kratern på cirka 3000 meters höjd. När du går upp längs sandbankarna kommer du till en lavaflödeskanal med anor från utbrottet 2002. När du går uppför kanalen kommer du fram till samma utbrotts översvämmande mynning. vi fortsätter mot Torre del Filosofo (2920 meter) längs de senaste fortfarande varma lavaflödena (2023-05-21). Efter lunchrasten går vi längs kanten av Barbagallo-kratern och beundrar toppkratrarna och hela Siciliens östra kust, från Taormina till Syrakusa.
Efter promenaden på kanten av Barbagallo-kratern, innan vi påbörjade nedstigningen, skulle vi återigen få möjlighet att beundra toppkratrarna Etna, Central Crater och South-East Crater, med deras oundvikliga gasplym.
Återresan med linbana kommer att ske längs kanaler med vulkanisk sand, och beundra, på vackra dagar, en hisnande utsikt, som sträcker sig från Joniska kusten till det inre av Sicilien.

An experience you cannot really put into words. The landscape is otherworldly and the emotions you experience under an active volcano are one of a kind. Because of the ongoing eruption and the sudden bad weather, we couldn’t complete the whole tour, but thankfully Clara, our wonderful guide, made sure we got the most of the experience. She was sweet, competent and attentive, and made you curious and passionate about the volcano just like an excellent teacher would do. Will definitely come back for another experience. Amazing experience hiking up around the crater field to the rumbling of the current eruption. Very knowledgable and friendly guide. Def need a degree of fitness and be prepared to come home with volcanic ash/sand everywhere! Would recommend, we loved it

Perfect excursion. The guides are very good. Important: glasses and something to cover your mouth if the volcano is active and bring something to eat for the quick stop on the excursion.

An absolutely amazing and unforgettable experience! Our Etna tour was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Sicily. It was a wonderful experience, especially thanks to our guide, Clara, who accompanied us, making us have fun and experience every stage up to 3000m with enthusiasm. We were captivated by her intense passion as well as by the unique landscapes into which she transported us. It is truly true that competence makes the difference; this day would not have been so enriching and impactful if it hadn't been for our guide, who didn't let us miss a single detail: from the minerals, to the myths, to the plants that smell like lemon!!!
