Dagsutflykt till Essaouira, den före detta Mogador byggd på en klippig halvö, med sina vallar i vaka på havet, sin medina i vita och blåa toner, sin livliga hamn och sina långa sandstränder. Essaouiras historia går tillbaka till 800-talet f.Kr. Fenicierna stannade där på vägen mot ekvatorn. Den verkliga grundaren av staden var Alaouite-sultanen Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah, som anförtrott konstruktionen till Theodore Cornut, arkitekt och elev av Vauban. Essaouira är nu en trevlig liten fiskehamn mycket livlig vid ankomsten av båtarna där sardiner och kräftdjur säljs på auktionen. På hamnen reparerar fiskare de röda näten. Njut av sardin som grillas utomhus i hamnens små restauranger, och upptäck sedan Sqala du Port, en krenelerad bastion byggd för att skydda hamnen och staden. Den består av två befästa vingar bakom marinporten. Lämna hamnen Sqala, gå in på Moulay Hassan-torget.

Moses and Allez si brahim were a fantastic guide and driver. The tour was very smooth and easy with lots of communication. Khalid Oubram was excellent. Besides the outstanding facilities( new air conditioned car) he was more than helpful with my predicament. I forgot my wallet at one stop, and he was the one to mobilise everything in order for ny walket to be found. And thank god, it was. Thank you Khalid .
