El Moose Studios Aurora Adventure W / Porträtt & Hot Pizza!!

Not only were we graced by the lights, but Nathan captured us in stunning photos so we weren’t stressing over figuring out our cameras. Nathan was a fantastic tour guide and photographer! The hot pizzas and cookies on a cold night were a treat too. We took another aurora tour with a different provider the night before and were in a huge group crammed into a tight cabin with light coming out of it and people flashing their flashlights in our eyes while they tried to figure out their cameras to capture the lights. Instead, Electric Moose provided a very small group of only 10 people, so it felt like hanging out with a few friends, and Nathan had individual time with each of us to capture all sorts of gorgeous pics in his expertly-located remote secret spot where there was minimal light and beautiful scenery that made our pics stunning. Nathan was so enthusiastic it was contagious. Our group was sharing pics and marveling at the lights together all night and although the temps were low and winds high, Nathan’s heated tent provided the perfect toasty warming shelter. We woke up later in the day to the spectacular album of pics. This tour made for a once-in-a-lifetime night for us and we absolutely recommend it!

It was a great experience. Cold and windy night, and Nathan took care of us. Very knowledgable. Great pics. We had great aurora that night. He knew were to go for the great views. He was pretty excited about what we saw that night too. Highly recommend.

An amazing tour! Nathan was knowledgeable and funny while discussing the science behind the northern lights. Enjoyed the small tour group. We were all comfy, cozy and warm in his tent. We saw an amazing light show and have wonderful professional pictures to show off.

Nathan came get prepared, with us sitting in an ice fishing tent, pizza oven, hand and toe warmers, etc. he was very knowledgeable about the northern lights, conditions, how it happens, and more. He also took incredible pictures of us, both with light painting and with the Aurora borealis. We had a wonderful experience. I couldn't recommend this tour enough

Nathan works hard to give you a great small group experience. I don’t see how anyone could do better. I have to admit, at the beginning of the night, I was a little skeptical because Aurora was faint to the naked eye and I was more concerned with what I could see than photos, BUT after hot pizza in his warming tent, Aurora became more and more intense and put on some amazing, almost continuous displays!! AND we got our professional pics the next morning. He obviously loves his job and I highly recommend this tour!!

Nathan was informative and kept the energy level at a good pace so you never even noticed the time lapsing! I love the small group atmosphere and the people we were with were awesome (I think in no small part to Nathan’s personality). I would definitely recommend him to anyone who wants to do an Aurora tour. His warming tent helped so much and the pizza was good and filling. Loved it!

If you’re coming to Fairbanks during aurora season, do not miss this tour! Nathan is the real deal. A kind, genuine person, he brings a unique approach to viewing the northern lights. After picking up the group in his spacious van, he drives out to the viewing location and sets up a warm, cozy shelter complete with chairs, heaters, and a vented pizza oven. The group’s comfort is always foremost in his mind. After an engaging conversation with the group while snacking on pizza, we go outside for professional photo shoots under the aurora. Later on, we enjoy hot drinks and warm cookies. Then Nathan packs everything up and drives us back to our pickup spots. A delightful experience, which I wouldn’t hesitate to repeat.

This phrase perfectly describes our experience with Nathan, who is not only a great guide and an excellent photographer, but also a wonderful person. I would return to this tour a thousand times. I think the combination of great people, pizza, cookies, excellent conversation, and breathtaking northern lights made this tour a dream come true.

He runs a small tour group which makes it even better. We were all comfy, cozy and warm in his tent. It made the experience even better as who wants to spend their entire time just sitting in a van waiting for the aurora to start.
