Our guide Sebastien was very clear on the meeting spot and even what he was wearing so we would recognize him. He gave us a wonderful tour of the market and some of the surrounding historical areas. Sebastien bought us some fresh strawberries, cheese, and ham, and brought us to a wonderful wine shop for a tasting of the wine with the fresh meat and produce. It was ana amazing experience and I highly recommend this tour and especially Sebastien as a guide.
We had an excellent tour of the food markets near the Eiffel Tower in Paris—truly one of the highlights of our trip. Sebastian was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond by recommending other great spots for us to visit during our short stay. The food and wine were absolutely delicious and gave us a real taste of the local culture. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an authentic and enjoyable Parisian experience!
Sébastien was incredibly knowledgeable, inviting and engaging. The tour went through the Sunday market at Motte Piquet- Grenelle and continued on through the park under the Eiffel Tower and over to the beautiful rue Cler and rue Saint Dominique. It was clear from his presentation that Sébastien knows of which he speaks and loves both his neighborhood and city.
We had a great time with Sebastien, he really knows is History of Paris and we enjoyed listening to all the fun facts that popped out of is head ! He also had prepared some food to taste before the tour, so we didn't have to wait in line ! and it was really good !
Sébastien Lanier de Lavalette’s Sunday market tour and exploring Rue Cler was everything we were hoping for and more. Although we have been to Paris many times over the last 30 years, Sébastien pointed out, sampled, and purchased many items we were not familiar with, including smoked duck, various cheeses, regional honey’s, corn flake crusted chicken and Aligot, a mashed potato and melted cheese dish. You must try this the next time you’re in Paris. We sampled many foods along the way and came home with the samples that Sébastien purchased for us.
This was our first trip to Paris! We just landed - quite jet-lagged and hungry when we met Sebastien. Sebastien is a user-friendly guide who warmly welcomed us and led us to a great spot for a quick, pre-tour Croque Monsieur. He is adept at meeting the needs of Paris first-timers looking for a smooth and easy introduction to the city. However, within a short time, it was clear that Sebastien’s extensive knowledge and passion for Paris also makes him a great fit for experienced travelers looking for a deeper appreciation of Parisian culture, history, food (and wine!). Sebastien made our walking tour fun, engaging and educational. He also demonstrated how to use the Metro! Importantly, this tour is in clear and concise English, a huge bonus. SLL accommodates varying ages, levels of sophistication, and interests. The tour exceeded our expectations!
Got into Paris the day before, usual nerves about “ how to find our host” the next day! I texted in a panic, Sebastien responded within minutes. The next day was a breeze to meet up. We toured the local markets, while getting the low down on the history of markets and their own quirks. We also got background history on Paris and the different sections of the city. We ended up on a local Rue, able to walk the cobblestones and enjoy chocolates, a drink and a bite of cheese. Sebastien is full of knowledge and has a love of this area, dating back many years. Loved it!
Sebastien was an amazing tour guide and made this one of the most memorable and fun tours! He was friendly and adaptable, catering to each of our food interests, and he was always willing to share fun facts about Paris and particularly the neighborhood we were in, the 7th arrondissement. I really enjoyed learning more about the history of various monuments in Paris, as Sebastien shared interesting facts that you'd never learn in school. Highly recommend!
We started the tour by visiting an open market under the metro which is only open on Wednesdays and Sundays. After admiring the amazing array of fruits, vegetables etc we sampled some cheese, some amazing strawberries, as well as some charcuterie. We then crossed over the champs de mars and Sebastian explained the history of the Eiffel Tower. We then went to another market, which is a pedestrian Street where the market is open every day . We went to this beautiful candy store where e sampled a Baba rhum cake and finished the visit with a glass of rosé at a charming café near the market. It was a wonderful morning. Sebastien was super friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend it.
