Very disappointing as no information en route and yet trip badged as having a guide. Also, looked like a two stop trip but actually had to walk over rocks and incline to get to Nudey Beach. No sign of any fish off either beach.
If you're willing to walk a little fast, you can squeeze in the secret garden walk, Nudey beach, and the lighthouse hike before the return ferry at 5.
Roger is very professional and friendly. Everything was well organised . We really enjoyed the trip.
Overall a good experience but we lost half an hour on our half day trip as the ferry didn’t depart and waited 30 mins for a family that was late.
Easy 45 minute boat ride to island. Walked to Nudey Beach, track to beach is an effort but worthwhile. Swam at beach, plenty of coral, recommend water shoes
The ferry was fine - it could use a good cleaning but it got us to the island and back. Fitzroy Island is very pretty.
Great experience once we got to the boat. Someone in the first tourist hut on the wharf (Cairns tours or something like that) sent us in the wrong direction and made us almost miss the boat. After we got on, all was great! We rented snorkel gear ($45AUD pp) and had a great time snorkelling and then we had time to go to Nudey Beach (10mins hike across). The beach is nice and cute pics on the swing.
Was a nice ride on the ferry and a good amount of time on the island - very beautiful. There’s a shop to purchase snorkelling equipment if needed and also a bar
As it has been said before you don’t spend a lot of time on the Island. But if you know it before hand you can still maximize your time and have a great time. I knew I wanted to do the trails so I went for it right away. The Summit track is definitely not for first timers but the Lighthouse road is very accessible with a moderate fitness level. If you’re an experienced hiker you can easily go all the way to the lighthouse and come back through the summit trail with time to spare before the ferry comes back a 4:45pm. I would definitely recommend this tour, the island is breath taking, but to go prepared as to not waste time once on the island.
We took the last ferry of the day at 1:30, I would recommend to take an earlier one. 40 minutes there and back back eat up slot of time. The last ferry leaves at 5 so you don’t get a lot of time to explore. I highly recommend making the trek through the rocky trail to Nudey Beach. It’s beautiful trail through the forest. The ferry itself it’s nothing fancy but the staff was very polite and friendly.
