We had friends visiting Bath and wanted something outdoors — a bit touristy, a bit local. Meg's walking tour hit exactly the right note. She's a natural storyteller, and by the end, the whole town looked different to us. The streets, businesses, and buildings we pass every day suddenly have history behind them. Once you know the names and the stories, you can't walk past those places the same way again. The pace was just right — enough walking to feel like an outing, but easy enough for all ages. Whether you're new to Bath or you live here like we do, this tour gives you a whole new way of seeing the city.
Our tour guide was wonderful. Meg gave us a terrific tour of Bath. She was very informative and knowledgeable.
We had a wonderful time on our tour with Meg. She is a wealth of information who is clearly passionate about history and Bath, and makes the tour fun and engaging. Highly recommend for your next trip to Bath!
Meg was extremely knowledgeable of Bath history and an excellent host. She is a teacher in Bath. We really enjoyed this tour!
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Meg clearly has a passion for her community's history; she's not the kind of guide who takes liberties with the facts to sensationalize a story. She's also a great presenter: pleasant to listen to, easy to hear, and easy to understand. She's clearly thought through what she wants to say and how to say it. And the images she carries around illustrate the stories! Bath is clearly much better off with Meg there.
This is a great walking tour - very interesting and gives a lot of information about bath and general Maine history. We took the tour on our first day visiting the area, and found ourselves referencing it often during our trip. Meg's knowledge is extensive and her enthusiasm is infectious. We loved the tour and I would highly recommend it.
This is more about the history of the town rather than the ships. I am NOT a history person but found this very interesting!
Meg was an excellent guide. She thoroughly knew the history and had maps and pictures to illustrate her narrative. Bath is a fascinating community and we enjoyed learning about it from Meg.
We always try to seek out walking tours whenever we visit a new area, and the Downtown Bath walking tour told me more than I ever would have learned about Bath on our own. Our guide, Meg, brought the city to life through her interesting and entertaining stories. We learned about the history and present-day Bath, including how this small city in Maine was closely tied to the economy of the South during the 1800s. That connection was both surprising and fascinating. It was a great mix of insight, humor, and local perspective.
Fantastic!!! We took the Women's History Walk with friends and it was wonderful. Meg is passionate about her history, well prepared, and fun to learn from. Even if you think you know Bath's history, you will learn things you otherwise would not know. This is a great tour for locals as well as visitors. We will be booking the cemetery tour next. Don't hesitate to book with Embark Maine Tours, you'll be so glad you did.
