Sedan 1953 är den nationella grekiska dansteatern "Dora Stratou" det levande museet för grekisk dans och är unik i sitt slag i världen. Danser, sånger och musik presenteras i sina ursprungliga former som var eller fortfarande utförs i respektive Greklands byar eller öar. Alla kostymer som utövas av artisterna är autentiska museumstycken, handgjorda i dessa byar för mer än ett sekel sedan. Teaterens garderob innehåller 2.000 sådana historiska kostymer från hela Grekland, komplett med smycken och tillbehör. Omfattande fältstudier av ett team av forskare under ledning av professor Alkis Raftis stöder trovärdigheten av prestationer till originalet.

Traditional music and dances, not flashy. The complexity and subtlety of steps is their professionalism
It would be helpful if directions could be generated and shared with those purchasing tickets for this event because the signage within the Old City to locate the outdoor theatre was poor. We had difficulties finding our way there but wow, what a show! Highly recommend this cultural experience! Pat

It was a beautiful show but there could be more interaction with the audience because the space allows it. The audience could participate dancing for a few minutes
Nice experience to hear regional Greek music and dances from all over the country and islands. Shame you do not understand what singers are singing about. Get ready, no sirtaki. Bring a sweater also in September!
Costume, performers, musicians and dancers come together for a well made performance of the history of the Greek dance. It is stunning!

Cultural experience in Athens that I highly recommend, the music is live and the outdoor theater, at the box office are very friendly.
