Imjingak Peace Park är den symboliska porten till DMZ och en plats som erbjuder djup insikt i Koreanska kriget. Efter denna webbplats kommer du också att besöka den närmaste tillgängliga punkten till JSA – Panmunjom Visitor Center, där du får en detaljerad förklaring på plats.

Mangbaedan är ett minnesaltare byggt för människor som skildes från sina familjer under Koreanska. Eftersom de inte kunde återvända till sina hemstäder i Nordkorea, använde de denna webbplats för att buga mot sina förfäders hem. Det besöks fortfarande, särskilt under traditionella helgdagar, av dem som vill hedra sina familjer.
Den tredje tunneln är en av de mest välkända platserna i DMZ. Den sträcker sig 1 635 meter lång, 2 meter bred och 2 meter hög och byggdes i hemlighet av Nordkorea som en invasionsväg till Sydkorea. Tunneln är tillräckligt stor för att en hel militär division ska kunna passera på en gång och konstruerades för att transportera trupper, vapen och ammunition. Anmärkningsvärt nog grävdes den ut med enbart grundläggande verktyg och dynamit och upptäcktes på 1970-talet efter information från en Koreanska avhoppare.
Dorasanobservatoriet erbjuder en sällsynt möjlighet att observera Nordkorea på avstånd. Från detta bergstoppsobservatorium kan du se delar av Nordkorea, inklusive Kaesong Industrial Complex, en propagandaby nära den massiva Koreanska flaggstången, och byggnader i det gemensamma säkerhetsområdet på klara dagar.
Unification Village är DMZ-turnéns sista stopp. Byn grundades på 1970-talet med statligt stöd och skapades ursprungligen som en del av internationella propagandainsatser. Dess struktur inspirerades av Israels kibbutzsystem. Idag bor cirka 400 invånare här, varav de flesta arbetar inom jordbruket.
Freedom Bridge är en historisk bro i Imjingak, byggd efter Koreanska kriget. Det användes av krigsfångar som återvände till Sydkorea under vapenstilleståndsperioden. Namnet ”Frihetsbron” återspeglar deras återkomst från fångenskapen. Idag finns bron kvar som en symbol för delningen av Korea och händelserna efter kriget.

Great experience with Bill Hwang. There was good coordination before the tour and Bill gave clear instructions. He’s a responsible guide who accompanied each step of the way and gave life to the tour. Much better experience with a small group compared to larger ones which are impersonal.

We had a great time on our DMZ tour, and Bill was a big reason why. He was super knowledgeable and shared tons of interesting facts and stories throughout the day that made the experience much more engaging. You could tell he really knows his stuff and enjoys what he does. One thing we especially appreciated was how many photos he took for our group. It was nice being able to enjoy the tour without constantly worrying about getting pictures ourselves, and he made sure everyone got some great shots. Bill made the whole process easy, organized, and fun from start to finish. He kept the group moving smoothly, answered all of our questions, and brought a great energy to the day. If you’re thinking about doing a DMZ tour, we’d definitely recommend going with Bill!

This was an excellent DMZ tour and one of the highlights of my trip to Korea. The small-group format made a huge difference compared to larger bus tours. With fewer people, there was plenty of opportunity to ask questions, interact with the guide, and really engage with the history and significance of the DMZ. Our guide, Bill Hwang, was outstanding. He was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about the subject matter. He did a great job explaining the history of the Korean Peninsula and providing context at each stop. I especially enjoyed the unique focus on the two contrasting JSA crossing stories, which added a personal and thought-provoking perspective that I haven’t seen offered on other DMZ tours. The itinerary was well organized, and highlights such as the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, Dora Observatory, Imjingak Peace Park, and Unification Village were fascinating. Bill kept the tour informative while also making it enjoyable and easy to follow. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Korea, especially if you’re looking for a more personal experience and a guide who truly brings the history to life.

The DMZ tour led by Bill Hwang was a tremendous opportunity to visit and learn about one of the most significant and storied locations in the world. The small tour group, “Team Bill”, allowed for tailored explanations and many opportunities for questions. We originally booked a group tour, however due to smaller numbers we were offered the opportunity to upgrade to a private tour — and what an incredible decision that turned out to be! Our tour guide, Bill Hwang, was absolutely outstanding. His knowledge of Korean history was impressive, but what touched us most was the passion he brought to every story he shared. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Highly Recommended! We had an absolutely wonderful experience with our tour guide, Bill Hwang, and our driver, Mr Kim. Originally, this was not meant to be a private tour, but due to low numbers, the company changed it to a private tour. While it cost a little more, it was absolutely worth every cent and ended up being one of the highlights of our trip to Korea. Bill was knowledgeable, engaging, and full of great dad jokes that kept us laughing throughout the day. He shared fascinating information about Korea’s history, culture, and attractions, and he was always happy to answer questions. He also provided excellent recommendations for places to visit during the rest of our stay. Because it became a private tour, we were able to enjoy a much more personal experience, and Bill was incredibly accommodating with our schedule and interests. We never felt rushed and were able to make the most of our day. A special thank you to Mr Kim, who was an excellent driver—professional, friendly, and always ensuring we travelled comfortably and safely. Both Bill and Mr Kim went above and beyond, even helping us take plenty of photos so we could capture beautiful memories of our trip. We were notified the day before where our meeting place & time would be from Team Bill! Team Bill was very prompt with returning our texts! Our meeting time was moved up 20 minutes earlier than scheduled. This helped to facilitate our group getting an earlier tour at the DMZ due to May attendances & it being a first come basis. Tour well worth your time & money spent & highly recommend. Be advised there's a considerable amout of walking involved with this tour. Our opinion was that Team Bill took a lot of pride in his work, knowledgeable & very willing to answer our questions. Team Bill took various pictures of all of us throughout the day & sent them to us on the What's App! Team Bill reached out to us at the end of our tour & offered for us to text him on the What's App if we needed any advise during our stay in Seoul. If you're looking for a tour with a considerable amount of free time this tour is not for you as it's very structured & time oriented. Great job Team Bill!
