Imjingak Peace Park är den symboliska porten till DMZ och en plats som erbjuder djup insikt i Koreanska kriget. Här hittar du viktiga historiska platser som Frihetsbron – som en gång användes av cirka 13 000 frihetssökande flyktingar – samt Mangbaedan, där Koreanska avhoppare hyllar sina hemstäder. Du kommer också att se Jangdan Station ånglok, som användes för att transportera militära förnödenheter under kriget. Efter denna webbplats kommer du också att besöka den närmaste tillgängliga punkten till JSA – Panmunjom Visitor Center, där du får en detaljerad förklaring på plats.

Mangbaedan är ett minnesaltare byggt för människor som skildes från sina familjer under Koreanska. Eftersom de inte kunde återvända till sina hemstäder i Nordkorea, använde de denna webbplats för att buga mot sina förfäders hem. Det besöks fortfarande, särskilt under traditionella helgdagar, av dem som vill hedra sina familjer.
Den tredje tunneln är en av de mest välkända platserna i DMZ. Den sträcker sig 1 635 meter lång, 2 meter bred och 2 meter hög och byggdes i hemlighet av Nordkorea som en invasionsväg till Sydkorea. Tunneln är tillräckligt stor för att en hel militär division ska kunna passera på en gång och konstruerades för att transportera trupper, vapen och ammunition. Anmärkningsvärt nog grävdes den ut med enbart grundläggande verktyg och dynamit och upptäcktes på 1970-talet efter information från en Koreanska avhoppare.
Dorasanobservatoriet erbjuder en sällsynt möjlighet att observera Nordkorea på avstånd. Från detta bergstoppsobservatorium kan du se delar av Nordkorea, inklusive Kaesong Industrial Complex, en propagandaby nära den massiva Koreanska flaggstången, och byggnader i det gemensamma säkerhetsområdet på klara dagar.
Unification Village är DMZ-turnéns sista stopp. Byn grundades på 1970-talet med statligt stöd och skapades ursprungligen som en del av internationella propagandainsatser. Dess struktur inspirerades av Israels kibbutzsystem. Idag bor cirka 400 invånare här, varav de flesta arbetar inom jordbruket.
Majang Lake Suspension Bridge är en av Koreas längsta hängbroar, som sträcker sig 220 meter över sjön. Den öppnade 2017 och förbinder vandringsleder på båda sidor av sjön med utsikt över skog och vatten. Det är det sista stoppet innan du återvänder till Seoul.

Bill Hwang was a great guide on our DMZ tour. He is a wealth of knowledge, kept our tour entertained but also taught us a lot about the DMZ area and history. He speaks at a great pace and patiently answered our questions. The small group tour was really great because we got to know the other tour members well and formed a close knit group with Bill’s help. It was also nice to not always crowd around to listen because we were a small group. Bill took care of all the ticketing requirements and kept us at a great pace in all the stops during the tour. He also helped us take few great photos on his phone that he shared with us afterwards. I highly recommend the trip and having Bill as a guide.

We had such a great time on this tour, and a big part of that was because of Bill. From the moment we met him, Bill was friendly, kind, and made everyone feel welcome. He did an amazing job explaining each stop along the way without making it feel like a lecture. You could tell he really knows the history and enjoys sharing it. One thing that really stood out was how thoughtful Bill was. He was always offering to take pictures of us, due to the camera restricted areas it made it easy. Bill was also happy to answer questions and made sure everyone was comfortable throughout the tour. His positive attitude and genuine care for the group made the whole experience even better.
