Franskyrkans kyrka är vittnesbörd om det katolska världens äldsta eukaristiska mirakel. Cirka år 700 tvivlade på basiljansk munk när det gäller Kristus i eukaristin: under massan blev den invigda värden och vin kött och blod. De två relikerna, 5 droppar koagulerat blod och tunna köttmembran bevaras i en silvermonstrans och en kristallampul Histologiska undersökningar, har visat att det är mänskligt blod och hjärtvävnad med samma blodgrupp (AB). Helgedomen besöks varje år av tusentals pilgrimer från hela världen. Helgdomen till Manoppello erkänns som Jesu Kristi sanna ansikte. Från 1646 utsätts det heliga ansiktet för vördnad av människor. Det är ett mjukt slöja, varpen och inslaget sammanflätas i form av en normal vävning och ansiktet till täckskyddet i Turin och det av Manoppello båda tygerna hade lagts på Jesu kropp.

Rom representerar startpunkten men också slutet på resan, eftersom det blir 2 timmars körtid för att komma till Lanciano, och sedan 2 timmar tillbaka från Manoppello till ditt boende.
Staden Lanciano är framför allt en vagga av konst för närvaro av många monument, med början från helgedomen för det eukaristiska mirakel som bevarar vittnesbörden om det äldsta eukaristiska mirakel i den katolska världen. Cirka år 700, i den antika kyrkan San Legonziano, uttryckte en basiljansk munk tvivel om Kristi närvaro i eukaristin. Under massan förvandlades den invigda värden och vinet verkligen till kött och blod. Relikerna hålls i en monstrance som beundras av tusentals troende.
Inuti Manoppellos helgedom finns, i ett fodral, det som erkänns som Jesu Kristi sanna ansikte. En legend berättar att en pilgrim år 1506 presenterade sig för fysikern Giacomo Antonio Leonelli och gav honom den dyrbara gåvan. Slöjan stannade kvar i Leonelli-huset fram till 1608, sedan stals den av en lyckosoldat och såldes till Donatantonio De Fabritiis och donerades därifrån till kapucinern fader Clemente da Castelvecchio, som placerade reliken mellan två glas med en valnötsram. Från 1646 är det heliga ansiktet exponerat för folkets vördnad. Det är en mjuk slöja, varpen och väften är sammanflätade i form av en vanlig vävning. Tyget mäter 17 x 24 cm och visar bilden av ett manligt ansikte med långt hår och skägg uppdelat i band; det är det enda fallet i världen där bilden är identiskt synlig på båda sidor.

Incredible pilgrimage! It was a faith deepening experience. Two absolutely amazing miracles! The heat muscle and blood of Jesus in the flesh is the first Eucaristic Miracle of it's kind and had been proven to be human heart tissue and human type AB blood. To be in it's presence and see it with our own eyes was amazing and profound. Then the face of the veil is striking, and when that image is overlayed with the images from other veils, the result is spectacular. This is definitely a worthwhile pilgrimage. I took this trip with my wife. We rode in a luxury car with a great driver through beautiful mountains. Our tour guide was excellent and knowledgeable, and able to help translate things to English from Italian. The miracles were really special. With the advanced notice we gave them, they were able to accommodate our vegan dietary restrictions for a great lunch. It was an excellent 12 hour day. I highly recommend it!

Francisco and our driver were amazing. They took very good care of us. The information Francisco shared at each site was very knowledgeable. We were not rushed at either site, Francisco was very patient giving us plenty of time for prayer. We wish all of our tour guides were as good at their job as Francisco is. Our driver was very careful in traffic and always available for extra help. The excellent Italian lunch was wonderful, Francisco's choices for food was tasty and very Italian. Foods we had not tried.

This was a day trip to see both the Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano and the Holy Face at Mannopello. Both holy places are unforgettable and going with Rome Italy Explora made the trip both safe and comfortable. I was able to spend a sufficient amount of time to pray during the visit to these 2 holy places. The tour guide, Maria Luisa and the driver, Florian both exhibited professionalism and ensured I was comfortable throughout the trip. Maria Luisa is highly fluent in English and was able to demonstrate expert knowledge on historical and cultural aspects and even give tips on places to eat at her own initiative. They were both considerate of my concerns and preferences for the entire trip and I am glad I was with them. For those who would like private, custom trips around Italy, I'd definitely recommend Rome Italy Explora as the agency of choice.

Our family of 5 from the US booked this trip as an excursion for a day to get out of busy Rome. A beautiful trip to the more rural Adriatic side of Italy. Two deeply moving spiritual sites that cannot be expressed with words. Francesco and Roberto took amazing care of us for the day and also sprinkled in some walks of the local towns along the way, local food (amazing arrosticini!!), and other surprises we appreciated. This was a near 12-hour return journey. The 2 drivers ensured the long drive was undertaken safely. Our guide Rossana exercised flexibility to accommodate my less mobile elderly sister. As requested, she even arranged a private Mass for my group at Lanciano although, for convenience, we joined a group from Australia for Mass instead. At Manopello, she arranged for Friar Fr. Abel to recount the history of the Holy Face and explain its deeper meaning to us. This trip is indeed spiritually uplifting.

The Eucharistic miracle of Lanciano is one of the places that the mysticism and spirituality that defy the physical laws conjugate. Seeing that piece of desiccated flesh and blood brings you closer to God. You won’t find architectural attractions here, but a lot of faith. I believe that after the pandemic, it will be a point where many people will go to renew their faith, give thanks and find comfort. I totally recommend it
