We had a great time on this tasting tour. Our guide, Martin, did a great job blending the history of the food we were tasting as well as the history of the city and surrounding areas. Hard to say what our favorite tasting was… But I think the chocolate may be the winner for us. Great way to explore the city, learn the history, and eat/drink our way around town. 5 ⭐️
Artur was a great tour guide, informative, friendly and funny! We actually returned to a couple of places that he introduced us to, so well worth it. Really enjoyed our tour
Patrick was flexible, knowledgeable and kind. I highly recommend this tour. What a delight! Show up hungry and be prepared to learn a lot and taste amazing food and beverages that Patrick will ensure fit your palette and dietary restrictions (I don’t eat red meat. Patrick: no problem! How about seafood? Yes, I love it!) As we wandered the streets and little alleyways of Bruges we passed many larger group tours and it made me appreciate even more that my husband and I had our very own local guide. Do yourself a favor and book this NOW!
While Hugo was quite nice and friendly, we didn't think we got the value for the cost of this food tour. We had fries, a waffle, chocolate, one pretzel, some cheese, and sausage-- plus a flight of beers and another stop for beer. The description of the tour included 10 tastings, like seafood. I've done food tours in many places; never has the tour left me wishing for more food.

On the tastings, it is worth noting that a 10 tasting tour is designed around a varied selection of local specialities, and different types of cheese, sausage and other items can each count as individual tastings. That said, if seafood was something you were particularly hoping to experience, it is always worth letting your guide know upfront so the tour can be tailored to your preferences where possible. We will also share your feedback with Hugo to help him better set expectations at the start of the tour. Bruges has a wonderful food scene and we hope you still enjoyed the city. Very disappointed, it is advertised as The 10 Tastings of Bruges With Locals: Private Food Tour. We only got 5 items 1. A jelly sweet 2. 1/2 a Belgian waffle (we even had to but our own drink) 3. 1/2 a Liege waffle 4. Fries 5. A cherry beer. We were offered samples of chocolate at some locations but these were offered to everyone and to us the following day when we went back, so can not be included within the 10 items. Our guide was knowledge about Bruges but definitely not as advertised or paid for.

A tour called "10 Tastings" sets a clear expectation, and while our hosts have flexibility in how they structure each tasting stop, five items falls short of what the name promises. Your point about the chocolate samples is also fair: if those were freely available to other visitors, they should not count toward your dedicated tasting experience. That distinction matters, and we hear you. Regarding drinks, these are generally not included in the tour price unless explicitly listed in the inclusions, but we recognize that this could have been communicated more clearly from the start. Hugo was a great host and guide. He was well informed of local history as well as local fare. You could tell he was proud to share his Belgian history and insights. We shared in local frites, and a flight of fun beers from a local brewery. We viewed the wall of beer with all of the unique glassware. I had shared with Hugo my desire to taste a specific local beer. Hugo modified the tour to make that happen. Perhaps the best part of the tour was to see the affection the various vendors had towards Hugo, which was easy to understand. We enjoyed this tour and our time with our guide.
Terrific in every way, informative and entertaining
Great day in Bruges ! The frites, waffles and chocolate exceeded our expectations….. loved the beer flites too but so much more than food with Hugo…. History, culture, arts, rounded our time to make it a perfect day
My wife and I had a wonderful food and beer tasting tour with Artur, who was very knowledgeable, friendly and patient. We would highly recommend him to anyone interested in learning a lot about Bruges, including its history and cuisine. Brought back some of the best chocolates we've ever had.
Excellent tour! We got to sample great beer, yummy waffles, and excellent chocolates. We also got to learn a lot about Brugge from an amazing guide! Highly recommend this experience
