Lepakshi-turnén är en guidad tur till en arkitektonisk juvel i Vijayanagara Empire. Det är en skattkista av tempel, skulpturer, målningar och andra konstverk. Den hängande pelaren i tempelhallen är ett underverk av forntida konstruktionsteknik. Den andra höjdpunkten är mysteriet för jättar som enligt legender skulle ha byggt de gamla avsnitten av templet. Vi kommer att leta efter spår av de bevis som lämnats kvar av jättarna för deras existens!

Vi utforskar detta mästverk från 1500-talet av arkitekturen i Vijaynagara. Först i raden är det avsnittet Mukha Mandapa som fungerade som platsen för dans och andra kulturella aktiviteter. Vi besöker sedan Artha Mandapa där kungen tillbe och där Garbha Griha husar gudomen. Följande är en unik bröllopshall tillverkad av grå sandsten med 38 snidade monolitiska pelare där Lord Shiva och Lady Parvati skulle ha gifta sig i antiken!
Indiens största Nandi Bull-staty lockar oss på Lepakshi. Tillverkad av ett enda granitblock är denna staty 15 fot lång och 27 fot lång. Vi kan beundra den bejeweled Nandi som bär en kaasu malai, en klockkedja, örhängen och andra smycken!

Lepakshi is amazingly beautiful, a Must see for the delicate sculpture, colourful fresque and too cute monkeys. Mayuri, 5senses guide, was a delight to be with! Knowledgeable, open minded and very well organised. All was taken care off to perfection, I just had to enjoy discover and enjoy free of any hassle. Thank you Mayuri!
This ancient mini marvel of a temple was built during the reign of King Sri Achutha Raya by his treasurer Virupanna.Though has many pillars it is balanced by one single pillar.Paintings of shiva,krishna and other deities adore the roof of temple using natural colors. Marriage Mantapa is incomplete without roof as Virupanna died before it's completion.But pullers depict mythologically important characters including famous Girija kalyanam.Further mythological history dates back to period of Ramayana where folklore says it's here the great Jatayu s wings was severed by Ravana the demon when the bird tried to obstruct Ravana from kidnapping Sita wife of Rama.Statue of Jatayu is seen rock.

The organization was perfect, Vignesh (an exceptional guide) explained the history of Lepakshi main temple with great detail.
