Shikanoshima ön är en liten ö som kan nås på bara 30 minuter från centrala Fukuoka. Stadsbilden och livsstilen i den gamla fiskebyn finns fortfarande kvar. Det spelade en gång en viktig roll som en nyckelpunkt för sjöfartshandeln. Många av ritualerna som hålls vid Shikaumi Shrine, som har spelat en viktig roll i kulturen och historien på denna ö, är sällsynta även i Japan. Under de senaste åren har det blivit en cykelplats älskad av lokala Fukuoka cyklister eftersom det gör att du kan turnera runt kusten. Awesome experience. The shop attendants were very helpful and friendly. I would suggest coming in early in the day or later in the afternoon when the heat isnt as scorching.
I rented a bike from them, they're really nice and explained the route. They grew up on the island. The shop has some nice clothes as well, I bought a new pair of shorts.
We had a great time cycling with good quality cross bikes. Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
I used it around 14:00 on weekdays. They taught me about the precautions of the cycle course and how to ride a bicycle, and I was able to leave immediately. I was able to circumnavigate the island in about two hours, making detours along the way. You can enjoy cycling without getting lost on almost a single road with good scenery. I enjoyed the staff's response with great peace of mind, and the building was stylish and beautiful! If you come to Shikanoshima, I highly recommend it!
Fab, fun day out! Loved it! The shikanoshima cycle guys were friendly and helpful and our family (3 adults and five kids) loved cycling around the island, stopping for local honey and a swim in the blue waters. Highly recommend!!!
