It became a very good experience Pleasant guide with a great cultural baggage It was also a nice walk
Great walking tour with Tania. We did this in our first day in Rotterdam and got a great orientation to the city and learned a lot about the city’s culture and history. Highly recommend.
This is a very informative walking tour covering history, culture and architecture in Rotterdam. Our guide Silvia was warm, friendly and very knowledgeable. We covered a lot in 2 hours and Silvia gave us some great recommendations of other areas to explore on our own. My friend and I were the only people booked on the tour on a cold morning in January so it felt very exclusive. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Rotterdam. It’s a great way to orientate yourself in the city and to understand more about the city’s rich history that only a tour guide could explain.
We were very pleased with the tour. We had an enjoying walk of around 2 hours, guided by Sylvia, with good explanation and pleasant interaction. Moreover, because of a misunderstanding on our side, we missed our time slot as initially planned, but the organizers have adapted their schedules and offered a second time slot the following day, which suited very well. An activity which we definitely can recommend!
The tour guide took much too long to tell us much too little. The entire walk and information relayed could have taken 30 minutes, yet we shuffled around for 2 hours learning very little. The tour guide seemed to struggle to express themselves in English but also didn’t seem to have engaging or informative scripts prepared either. It wasn’t terrible, but I would have accepted the quality for a free tour instead of having paid £70 for two people. A few members of the group abandoned the tour midway through, and I don’t blame them. Not worth it at all.
It's a really nice Tour and touched most of the main points in Rotterdam. The starting point is easy to find if you travel by train. Tania was super adaptable even with the language barrier and really friendly.
Tania did a great job! She really knows her materials! I. Would definitely tour with her again. She made us forget just how cold it was the day we took her tour in January.
Rotterdam, we learned, is all about architecture. Our guide, Tanya, explained how World War 2 left the centre of the city entirely devastated by bombing, but a blank slate for redevelopment. The result is, as she stated, an architectural innovation laboratory. We were extremely fortunate that we two were the only clients on this tour, so we were able to really engage Tanya. She is a landscape architect and very knowledgeable about how the buildings relate to each other, the city's history and the overall urban design. The tour length was great, as we covered a good distance, and following how building form has evolved in the last 70 years. If you are a fan of architecture, you'll love tour.
We thoroughly enjoyed this architectural tour of Rotterdam, it was led by an architect who was able to explain why Rotterdam has embraced modern architecture. We could have easily carried on walking for a lot longer and actually went over time as it was so interesting.
It's worth it to get to know the city a bit. A city that certainly surprised me, with a richer architecture than other countries in Europe.
