Creole Kids Tour i New Orleans

Ta en promenad tillbaka i tiden på denna unika 90 minuters vandringstur i det franska kvarteret. Den lärarledda Creole Kids Tour leder barn i åldrarna (och deras vuxna) genom 6 kvarter av det franska kvarteret som förklarar vem som bodde här, varför de bodde här och hur livet var för barn som bodde här på 1800-talet. Barnen kommer att se bilder från det förflutna, hålla artefakter från det förflutna och återaktivera ett ögonblick i tid. Deltagande vuxna kommer att gå bort med en bättre förståelse för staden - och några väldigt glada barn! Vuxna uppmuntras att delta eller att slå tillbaka och låta sina barn leda showen.

Familjer kommer att lära sig fakta om floden och dess användning under de senaste århundradena. Pappaskämt och tänkvärda frågor ingår.
Barnen kommer att lära sig vem Andrew Jackson var, vad han är mest känd för och varför det finns en staty av honom i New Orleans. De kommer också att hälsa på honom som en 1800-talsmedborgare skulle göra.
I denna öppna park kommer familjer att sitta i skuggan och lära sig om de olika människorna som kontrollerat, arbetat och levt i New Orleans sedan 1600-talet. Vi kommer att diskutera hur detta land användes och varför människor kom hit - villigt och förslavade. Barn kommer att lära sig om det dagliga livet på 1800-talet gratis barn kontra förslavade barn; Amerikaner vs kreoler, och pojkar vs flickor. Tankeväckande diskussioner vävs in i återskapandet av aspekter av vårt förflutna medan du njuter av solen på detta vackra torg.
Familjer kommer att lära sig om den katolska kyrkans roll i upprättandet av kolonin - såväl som Code Noir som styrde religionen och rollerna för den förslavade befolkningen. Vi kommer att kika längs sidan och höra om en av de mest populära katolska högtiderna: Mardi Gras.

Miss Jill did an amazing job with this tour. She was incredibly patient with the kids and the material was perfect for the target audience. My daughter learned a lot and I was happy she was getting well researched and fact based information delivered in a way she could understand and process (even though some topics are difficult for kiddos to get). We loved the tour so much, we booked the tween ghost tour with Miss Chelsea the next day and loved it as well! I cannot recommend this company strongly enough if you are traveling with kiddos.

What a great tour! Leann was so knowledgeable and passionate about New Orleans history and it really came alive for my 7&10 year olds. She took her time answering questions and adding details and both children and adults walked away with new understanding of the region and history. Both kids and adults were engaged the entire tour, and it was a great mix of history, walking, props and active learning. You can tell Leann is a teacher. I’m sure she’s just as wonderful in the classroom, her students are lucky.
We absolutely LOVED the Creole Kids tour! Leann was our guide and she did a phenomenal job! She went above and beyond with the tour and did an amazing job making history come to life. My husband and I loved it just as much as the kids! It was the highlight of our time in New Orleans, and the kids said it was even better than beignets! 😉
We took a kids walking tour and it was wonderful! Very educational while being engaging and fun. Learned a lot about Creole culture and how people lived hundreds of years ago in New Orleans.

My kids loved this! The guide was very knowledgeable and professional. She was very personable and when I told her my children’s father was creole, she made it a point to connect the tour to them. We will be doing more tours and I definitely recommend.
This was an amazing experience for our kids. The communication with location and information ahead of time was perfect. This tour kept our kids attention the entire time and our kids were taking about it all day long. It was very educational and we would highly recommend when visiting NOLA.
Highly interactive. The kids were engaged every step of the way. Jill had visual representations which helped to reinforce facts. Lots of laughter. A wonderful and memorable tour for our kids!

My 8 and 6 years old stayed engaged the entire time. All four of us learned interesting history of NOLA. Not as much walking as I expected (this was a good thing). I would highly recommend this tour. I wish I booked more tours through them.
