Colombo Cooking Class

The cooking class was extremely authentic and engaging. The ten different curries we prepared were simply grand, and the corresponding recipes for recreating them were also provided. The personal exchange with the couple was particularly enjoyable – we had a lot of fun and laughed a lot. This educational and varied afternoon is a must for anyone who enjoys cooking and discovering new cuisines.

We had such a wonderful experience at this cooking class! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming, fun, and very well organized. The instructor was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about cooking, which made the entire experience both enjoyable and easy to follow. The recipes were delicious and thoughtfully chosen, and we learned so many useful techniques and tips that we can actually use at home. Everything was explained clearly, and the hands-on approach made the class engaging from start to finish. What we appreciated most was how relaxed and friendly the environment felt. Whether you’re a beginner or someone who already enjoys cooking, this class is a fantastic experience. It was not only educational but also a lot of fun, and the food we prepared turned out amazing! We would highly recommend this cooking class to anyone looking to improve their cooking skills, try something new, or simply enjoy a memorable experience. My husband and I do a cooking class in every country we visit, and this was by far the best one yet! The experience felt so personal and authentic with our instructor, Piumi — and we even had a special guest: her adorable dog. We started by learning about all the different spices used in Sri Lankan cooking, then got to choose which ingredients we wanted to use for our curries. We washed and prepared everything thoroughly before we started cooking. In total, we made 8 different dishes, and every single one was AMAZING. Honestly, we wished we had a second stomach so we could keep eating! Highly recommend this cooking class to anyone wanting an authentic and memorable Sri Lankan food experience.

This experience was absolutely amazing! It was such a welcoming and warm environment with fresh ingredients and home made spices! The food was delicious and the host was very knowledgeable and kind! We had lots of laughs and adored her dog! I would recommend this to everyone who visits Sri Lanka and if I come back again I would bring my friends and family to this cooking experience. Thanks for the amazing time!

The cooking class was so amazing!! Honestly a really great experience, I would highly recommend this to anyone coming to travel Sri Lanka. The kitchen was clean and food very fresh, Loved it!

My partner and I were incredibly lucky to do a private cooking class with Piumi (and the world's most adorable sous chef, Paffu). We made 9 curries, coconut sambal, and coconut roti. Piumi answered our endless stream of questions with patience and knowledge, and we had a lot of fun. The food was exceptional, especially the eggplant curry and the pineapple curry. Armed with new skills and all the recipes, were so excited to make these dishes when we get home. Thank you so much for having us and welcoming us with such hospitality - it's a memory we will cherish for years to come.

What an amazing experience! I learned so much and all the food was incredibly delicious. I felt very safe and welcomed as a solo traveler and had wonderful conversation the entire time I was there. The hosts were so understanding and accommodating about my preferences, and I really learned a lot about Sri Lankan culture and cuisine.
