Den spännande dagen börjar med att hämta från ditt hotell av en representant för Sanota Walkers. Då kommer du att bli visad för att besöka ett av Sri Lankas högt värderade tempel som heter Gangarama Temple, som ligger vid den berömda och pittoreska Beira-sjön i mitten av staden Colombo. Gangarama-templet grundades för cirka hundra och tjugo (120) år sedan och är ett av de viktigaste buddhisttemplen på Sri Lanka. Templet, som ursprungligen byggdes för att vara en liten hermitage på en bit myrig mark under 19: e f.Kr., har vuxit till att omfatta flera imponerande byggnader och blivit en internationellt känd plats för tillbedjan, ett centrum för lärande samt en möteshall för munkar medan också värd för ett museum, ett bibliotek och en relikskammare bland andra.
Seema Malaka är ett buddhistiskt tempel i Colombo, Sri Lanka. Templet används främst för meditation och vila, snarare än för dyrkan. Templet, som ligger i Beira-sjön, byggdes ursprungligen i slutet av 1800-talet.

Låt oss nu gå vidare till en mycket speciell plats med namnet ”Självständigheten” som ligger bara några minuter från Gamla parlamentets byggnad. Denna byggnad byggdes för att fira Sri Lankas oberoende från kolonistyret och ligger på samma plats där ett speciellt podium byggdes 1948 för att markera ceremonin för Sri Lankas självstyre och det nya parlamentet. I byggnaden för självständighetstorget finns också ett museum som visar en historia av alla individer som kämpade och kämpade för Sri Lankas självständighet.

A great introduction to Colombo, our guide was well versed on the city and very informative. The tour did the top highlights of the city, and show cased the the interesting mix of temples and religions. The tour is recommended for those new to the city with limited time to self explore. Lunch was also great, an opportunity to try something local.

The pick-up from the port did not work, the statement “They will be picked up at the ship and the guide has a sign with their name” did not take place. The guide spoke only English , booked and promised was a German guide.

My driver was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He drove safely. The car was clean and AC to keep me cool. I visited many temples to experience the cultural life. I ate at a wonderful restaurant for lunch. We able to go to a store for survivors.

The driver was very knowledgeable of Hindi and Buddhists temples. The sights were fantastic. Even though the tour online it says approx 6 hours, we were informed that is actually 4 hours of tour then 1 hour of shopping which was not in the description. We did 4 1/4 hours and were exhausted, so it’s the right amount of touring. We recommend this tour.

Our city tour with Subash around Colombo was excellent and quite because of Independence Day, a nice lunch at a Curry restaurant,good local information and a very caring quire.
