A lovely wee chateau on the banks of Lac Leman, it’s not particularly big and we just wandered around looking at all the rooms and historical artefacts, it took us about an hour to an hour 15 but if you do the audio tour or guided tour it will be longer. Beautiful chateau and interesting history. We had the train pass so got to Montreaux for free, jumped on a bus for 3.50 chf each way and the entrance was 15 chf.
Nice visit. It remains Swiss in terms of pricing, but we enjoyed visiting this castle and feeding our knowledge.

Beautifully located by the lake with mountain views. Interesting fairly well preserved medieval castle, with some original features & decoration. Over 40 rooms/points of interest to visit, with audio guide or written descriptions. A 45 minute walk from central Montreux along the lakeside promenade, or a 10 minute bus ride from town.
Meh… I’m a 11 yr old girl so I didn’t rlly like it too much but it wasn’t terribly boring either! Idk about the admission fee! I’d say to spend about 1-3 hours there! Not too crowded and is very pretty! Staff is friendly too and they give you a pamphlet to read and learn about the castle! There is a lot to read, explore, walk around, to do!
A site to see to unwind and relax. The castle itself is nothing extraordinary compared to the castles that one can visit in France, but it is an attraction to do. The shaded paths nearby are very pleasant. NB: If you are coming by car, remember to buy a Swiss parking disc for the blue zone (3 to 5 € on AMZ) which will allow you to park for free in the parking spaces in front of the castle.
A necessary stop if you are traveling to Switzerland; adding a walk or a boat ride to the Queen museum makes it wonderful!
Walking to it and seeing it get closer, you don’t realise how long It is in shape. Fab design of stone and wood with turrets, dungeons, long rooms and corridors and lots of nooks and crannies to explore. Fun, scenic and a bit different. A must do
We found this to be a nice castle to visit. The exterior and setting are the highlight, situated along the lake with picturesque views. The interior was not as majestic but instead had a more rustic feel. Signage throughout the castle was helpful, though we also brought along a Rick Steves guide that had a helpful walkthrough of the castle. Wear comfortable shoes as you will be walking along rough pavement and climbing up and down stairs. If you are driving, there is limited free parking along the road. Spaces are tight and it’s a 3-hour limit, which we found just about right for our visit. Make sure to put out a blue parking disk on your dashboard before leaving your car. As we visited during late April, the crowds were limited and we only had a short wait to purchase tickets onsite. There is a cafe opposite the castle and gift shops both inside and outside the castle.
Extremely well preserved castle/fortress on the banks of Lake Geneva. It‘s a jewel for people who are into history and medieval architecture. It looks small but the castle is an immense construction, full of historical facts and stories.
