Vårt första stopp är Chichen Itza. Vi kommer ungefär vid öppettid så förutom att ha den arkeologiska platsen för din egen slipper du också värmen. En flerspråkig certifierad guide (+- 1 1/2 timme) kommer att förklara dig om Itzáes, de gamla invånarna i Chichén Itzá, deras imponerande 30m/98ft höga slott Kukulcán (och dess solkalender som återspeglas i den), den största bollplanen i Mesoamerika och krigarnas tempel. Efter det guidade besöket har du +- 1 timme ledig tid.
Efter att ha besökt den arkeologiska platsen åker vi till en avlägsen cenote. En lugn plats att vila på eller ta ett uppfriskande dopp. Där äter vi lunch gjord av den lokala Maya-kvinnogemenskapen.
Denna gula stad med sitt 1500-talskloster byggt på en Maya-pyramid och som har det näst största atriumet i världen, är en av de första magiska städerna i Mexiko. Vi kommer att visa dig några Maya-strukturer du fortfarande kan klättra på. En av dessa är den tredje största byggnaden i Mesoamerika (volymmässigt). Innan vi går tillbaka till Valladolid har du möjlighet att beundra det vackra verk av en av de mycket begåvade lokala hantverkarna som Izamal erbjuder: - Cocoyol: smycken gjorda av lokala fruktfrön och ryggrad av henequen. - Miniatyrer: småskaligt konstverk. - Paper-mâché: fantastiskt arbete med maché-papper. - Träsnideri: ganska vanligt konstverk i Mayaregionen

An incredible day with Gilberto. An excellent guide who took us on a 10 hour excursion to Chichen Itza, cenote Yokdzonot, and the yellow city of Izamal. We learned so much from Gilberto. I felt the tour was perfectly timed, with great locations and truly memories experiences. Gilberto also takes amazing photos if you're wanting group photos.

Great experience. The tour is well calibrated. The guide (Jose) is very kind, knowledgeable and fun. We learned a lot. 100% would recommend As stated in the description of the tour, the entrance fee to Chichén Itzá is not included, but that was the only mandatory « extra expense »

Jose was an amazing tour guide. He truly cares about his Mayan culture and it showed through his knowledge of the sites that we went to throughout the day. His presence was informational, and never speaking to the history in a way that wasn’t supported by facts. We learned so much and he was a or of fun to discuss the history of the Yucatán and Mayans with. Would definitely recommend him and this trip :).

A great combo experience - José was very knowledgeable about the area as a local. Getting to Chichén Itzá before the mobs from Cancun do is definitely a bonus! There is minimal cover there during the lectures at various spots, so be sure to bring sun protection! There may be umbrellas in the transport van. The cenote was beautiful - we were a little sad that bulky life vests were required as that made it difficult to swim around very well. The water was perfect. The food was delicious. Izamal was picturesque, and it was neat to climb a Mayan pyramid. It was typical for a multi-stop tour in that you really want more time at each place to explore, but you're on a timeline. They balance it as best they can.
