Vi leder mot Mylapore ett gammalt bostadsområde i Chennai vars historia går tillbaka till romerska tider när det brukade handla peppar och fin tyg med Rom for Guld! Vi besöker det magnifika Kapaleeshwar templet. Byggd på 7th century är detta tempel tillägnad Lord Shiva. Byggd i Dravidian-stilarkitektur har den en tornad "Gopuram". Gästerna kan förvänta sig en fascinerande upplevelse av ritualer och lugn i templet. Vår kulturella evangelist kommer att demystifiera händelserna i templet!
Vi besöker en unik klosterorganisation som heter Ramakrishna Math, tillägnad Sri Ramakrishna 1800-talets helgon. Gäster kommer att få se det universella templet, helgedomen, en vacker Mantapam, ett multimedia museum och ett förtrollande bibliotek.
Detta är ett tempel tillägnad Sai Baba, den stora mystiker som förenade hinduer och muslimer och predikade om universell kärlek och brödraskap. Templet är byggt med vit marmor och har en lampa som är tänd i mer än 100 år
Vi besöker den berömda San Thome basilikan, den huvudsakliga kyrkan av den romersk-katolska ärkebiskopen av Madras och Mylapore. Vi kan se relikvier av St Thomas här. Det är en av endast tre kyrkor i världen som har byggts på en apostels grav. De andra två är Peterskyrkan i Vatikanen och Santiago de Compostela-katedralen i Spanien.
Fort St George är den första engelska fästningen byggd 1644 av East India Company. Vi kommer att besöka St Marys Church, Indiens äldsta anglikanska kyrka. Vår kulturella evangelist tar dig till ett pittoreskt museum som är rik på relikter i kolonialtiden och återger historien om hur det östindiska företaget morphed från ett handelsföretag till linjalen i Indien!
Vi kommer att utforska minnesmärket för Swami Vivekananda som var en stor filosof. Hans tal i World's Parliament of Religions som hölls i september 1893 gjorde honom känd som en talare av gudomlig rätt och som en budbärare av indisk visdom till västvärlden. På måndagar är det stängt.
Gå på Marina Beach, smutta på festligheten och lär dig stadens arv genom dess statyer. Lär dig varför en tjurfäktning ligger nära Chennaiternas hjärta vid minnesmärket Jalikattu. Klättra upp i ett gammalt fyrhus för ett otroligt perspektiv på Chennai! Observera att fyren är stängd på måndagar.

Hareesh was very nice and the tour was perfectly designed. They also ask you what you want to do in case there are other things you want to see. The car was air conditioned and came with multiple waters. I highly recommend even if you are solo.
This tour was perfect. Well structured, informative and interesting. My guide - Jainath was well informed and brought in lots of interesting trivia. We toured two temples, a museum and marina beach for a half day tour. Great value for money.
Kannan was very knowledgeable about Chennai! I really enjoyed the visit to The Tomb of St. Thomas on the tour!
If you have the time for tour in the great city of Chennai this is the one for you. The tour was incredibly well-organized, covering the history of Chennai and how it came to be. The tour highlights cultural significance of their monuments and good viewpoint of local life. My guide Kannan was the definition of brilliance as he passion for the city was almost profound as his knowledge about the city. He shared fascinating stories behind each landmark,whilst making the experience feel personal and engaging. I truly believe that from various temples, significant landmarks and scenic Marina Beach, every stop provided uniqueness and wasn't handed the same way. I now leave Chennai with deep appreciation and highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get a taste of this city.t on the full tour with Guide
This was an informative and interesting tour that covered the highlights of Chennai. Our guide Jainath was very knowledgeable and happy to share his insights with us. There is a lot of ground covered and it’s a great starting point to explore the so many historical and cultural sights. Well worth doing.

I don't usually do guided tours but Ganesh was a lovely guide! It was a very comfortable way of seeing the top sites of the city with some glimpses of what everyday life looks like in Chennai. There are a lot of different cultural elements to the tour, from religion, to fisherman's neighbourhoods and some good local food and snacks. Definitely glad I had the chance of squeezing all of this in my 24 hours in Chennai.
Really friendly and interesting time spent with Hareesh . He brought all the sights to life with stories and cultural insights and a natural enthusiasm. He was responsive in including our interests during the day. Would highly recommend this tour.
We were picked up from our hotel at the appointed time. Our guide , Kannnan , gave us a thorough introduction to the city of Chennai. It was a wonderful private tour covering the major temples , churches and museums and other sites. Kannan was a great guide- he took care in explaining the history of the temples and ensured we were comfortable at all times. We never felt hurried. We even had time for a leisurely lunch. Would definitely recommend!
Our day tour with Kannan and Ardil was excellent. The temples were beautiful and Kannan ensured we felt welcome and also taught us how to respectfully enjoy this cultural experience. Lunch was a culinary journey and we very much enjoyed Kannan’s company throughout. Ardil is a five star driver. I highly recommend 5 senses.
