Denna mat och historia Tour kommer att hålla munnen vattnas , observera att dessa är provstorlekar för att få smak av maten och är inte nödvändigtvis en komplett måltid beroende på din aptit . På The Tour kommer du att lära dig allt möjligt om PEI: s historia samt dess mat och historien om dess olika livsmedel och varför varje maträtt är viktig för öborna. Du kommer att prova några av PEI välkända rätter från några av dess bästa restauranger. I slutet av Touren kommer du att "shuck in" och bli en hedersönare. Matersättning på grund av allergier etc kan finnas tillgänglig men begäran måste göras i förväg. * Observera också att Water Prince Corner Shop stopp kan göras ibland som en takeout / picknick stil stopp på grund av storleken och upptagen i restaurangen.”

Nere vid vattnet kommer vi att prata om den allmänna historien samt om hur olika kulturer använde olika livsmedel.
Vi kommer sedan att tillbringa lite tid på Great George lära sig om dess många historiska sevärdheter som Great George Hotel och St Dunstans basilika
Första stoppet blir på Peake's Restaurant & Bar där vi provar några musslor med sås som innehåller vitt vin, grädde, lök, selleri, örter, smör. Äter du kommer du att lära dig allt om musslor.
Vi kommer nu att tala om Province House och viktigast av allt Charlottetownkonferensen 1864 som hölls här 1864 för att diskutera möjligheten att skapa ett nytt land.
Vårt nästa matstopp blir på vad som anses vara en av de bästa restaurangerna i Charlottetown och PEI som är Water Prince Corner Shop. Här kommer vi att ha en provstorlek på en hummerrulle (hälften ) , lite potatissallad och provsmaka några kammusslor . Här kommer vi att prata om potatis/odlingsindustrin på PEI , lite om hummerindustrin på PEI och kammusslor . * Observera att detta stopp kan göras på tid som picknick / take out stil på grund av storleken och upptagenheten i restaurangen
Vårt sista stopp blir vid Lobster on the Wharf som ligger precis vid vattnet och i närheten av där vi startade turen. Först besöker vi Hummerpund för att lära oss mer om hummer (observera att Hummerpund kanske inte alltid är öppet, om så är fallet går vi direkt till restaurangen). När vi är klara i Hummer Pound kommer vi att gå in på restaurangsidan där du kommer att lära dig om Ostronindustrin på PEI då du kommer att officiellt shucked in genom att shucking en Oyster (naken och rå som är den traditionella vägen på PEI) och ta en shot av PEI Moonshine (vatten eller läsk finns också. Vi kan också ta din bild eller video av dig shucking dina ostron . Här får du också en Anne’s Chocolate eller liknande godis.

Our guide was great! Super knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the history of Charlottetown. Would totally recommend! Food was good too!
We are so glad we took this tour! Charlottetown has so much history behind it and our guide made it especially nice with his personal touches about his experience living on PEI since childhood.
This was a great tour. Ken was a historian and was interesting. His personal stories were informative and provided a good viewpoint on the region's history. However the rain he said was not going to come, CAME!!😊. He's no weatherman. It was a great tour and we enjoyed it. We would recommend Ken to anyone looking for a tour guide.
The tour was amazing. Our guide (Carolyn) gave a lot of details about the rich history of PEI and the origins of Canada’s Confederation, while walking to several points of interest. The food was fantastic. We really enjoyed it. NOTE: it is better to do this on the 1st day you are in Charlottetown, as you will know all the fantastic restaurants to go to!
Awesome tour. Our guide Caroline was a wealth of historical knowledge. It was cool to learn that our country came to be after the provincial delegates drank too much so much so that they came to an agreement. Oh yeah, the food. A great taste of island cuisine. I read someone else’s review commenting that there was not enough food. It’s supposed to be a taste of island cuisine which it is. We ended up going back to one of our stops later in the day to grab dinner. If you are expecting to strap on a feed bag and get stuffed then find a buffet. If you are looking for some culture, history and a taste then you gotta take this tour.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable with the history of Charlottetown as well as the food served to the group of nine. She was very personable. I enjoyed the whole tour.
The Charlottetown Food Walking Tour was an excellent blend of history and food. Our guide, Carolyn is very knowledgeable and she filled us in on the history of PEI, the city of Charlottetown, the Charlottetown conference and PEI's role in the formation of Canada. She presented the information in an interesting way and was able to handle all of our questions. The tour covered about a mile of walking and was interspersed with three food stops, one for mussels, one for a lobster roll, and the final stop for oysters. If you like seafood, this is a tour for you. The food was excellent (I'm not an oyster fan but we got through it OK) but the mussels and lobster roll were really good. My only comment to complete the tour would be to add an ice cream stop at the very end. All in all we really enjoyed our tour and would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to sample good seafood and learn a bit about the history of PEI.
My wife and I had the pleasure of being led by Mark today in and around Charlottetown. His knowledge and love of all things re this city; this province was on full display. His detailed talk was punctuated by stops at three quality restaurants. Thanks again Mark from D&K from Markham ON.

Was cancelled very late the evening before. Didn’t see the message until an hour before the activity was to happen the next morning. . Needless to say it didn’t happen and it was our only day in Charlottetown. Very disappointing.
I understand your frustration and I do apologize that it was last minute . But I did send you your refund and some options to reschedule and also some other options for things for you to do instead . Although you did forget to mention why it was cancelled . I had to cancel last minute as the guide doing the tour had to visit someone who was nearing the end of their life and had asked for the guide to visit them in Hospital (and has since passed away) . My other guides were already on tour and one who was off island for a medial appointment. I was also on a tour so unfortunately I wasn’t able to make it work . Like I said I’m sorry that you didn’t get to experience the tour . I hope you enjoyed our beautiful island . Josh
