Resplan
Custom House i Charleston, S.C.

Bill was an excellent guide, we learned some very interesting facts. The horse was a beautiful animal. I would take this tour again and hopefully with bill.
Our guide Sydney and our horse was Commander. Sydney was so knowledgeable yet she was funny. She handled Commander with ease even when he was spooked by the dump truck. I booked with this company as it appears that they really care about their horses. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Great ride. Mariah was excellent guide. So much knowledge, very interesting. Howie was a great horse and loved the braided mane and tail. Thanks for a great adventure.
Great experience, Bill was very informative with the right amount of history and fun along with plenty of information on how his horse Isiah was well cared for. Well worth it and great way to start your trip.

Enjoyed our visit. Thanks to Austin for a great tour!
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review, Robin! We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your carriage tour with Austen. We hope to welcome you back to our Big Red Barn soon.
They abuse the horses and make them work in 90+ degree temperatures. They state themselves the horses work 8 hours a day for 5+ days. They do not have a nice life, please book a walking tour, you can see Charleston without supporting animal abuse.
If you book 12-5pm and it is very hot, you risk a cancellation due to hot weather. If the temperatures reach 95+, there could be a cancellation depending on several factors.
Thank you for your helpful advice, John! You make a great point. Mornings and evenings make a wonderful time of the day for a carriage tour of Charleston, in the summertime. Thank you for the positive feedback!
Very historical. Lots of information about fun stuff. Horse(Josh) and driver(alan) were amazing. Professional and a sense of humor.

We booked this tour on July 4th for the history aspect and getting to see some areas in Charleston we knew we wouldn't want to miss seeing. The trip did not disappoint! Our guide was a hoot! He had a fantastic personality and was very humorous and knowledgeable about the history of Charleston. Unfortunately, a guy along the route starting taunting and yelling about the horse and abusive use of the carriage. Our guide was extremely professional and polite and addressed the man in a positive manner. The horses here are so loved and cared for and it shows. Our guide also informed us of just how much care and attention goes into these amazing gentle giants everyday. Charlie was our horse and everyone could tell he was very well loved and taken care of. I would absolutely recommend this trip in Charleston!
