Chacchoben Maya Ruins är den mest populära och besökta attraktionen för en dag i Costa Maya. Det är ungefär en timmes bilresa från Costa Maya Port. Denna plats ligger bara några kilometer från byn Chacchoben som dess namn härrör från. Översättningen av Maya-ordet "Chacchoben" hänvisar till "Röda majsens plats". Byggnaderna på denna plats kännetecknas av stora tempel och massiva plattformar daterade från 700 e.Kr.

Mahahual es de los mejores destinos de todo el Caribe Mexicano para practicar snorkel y buceo, ya que frente a sus costas se encuentra el arrecife Mesoamericano, que es la Segunda barrera de coral mas larga del mundo. Las playas de Mahahual son de las mas extensas en el Caribe Mexicano, con interminables kilómetros de blanca arena, palmeras y un mar de tono azul turquesa con oleaje casi imperceptible por el arrecife llamado "banco chinchorro" que actúa como rom. Sus aguas cálidas, son una invitación a pasearse todo el día nadando, recorrer el boulevard que esta lleno de tiendas para comprar souvenirs o simplemente relajarte y disfrutar los masajes frente al mar y probar los auténticos platomías de laicana.

Absolutely worth the money! They also reserve beach chairs for you :)
Visiting the Ruins was a real treat. Our guide was very knowledgeable and answered all questions. The RC shopping/pool area was hopping due to 3 ships being in port at the same time. We left and went to town. Had a great lunch on the beach and did some fun sbopping. Fun day.
The tour was well planned and delivered as expected. The guide was knowledgeable and fluent in English and Spanish.

Very interesting talk on the way to the ruins. Guide had visuals too. Great visit to the ruins and to the beach after. It was good to try local food at the ruins and the stop at the fruit stall was a nice extra. Only issue was ticket didn’t have departure time on so had to contact the operator and didn’t head back until the day. But all was resolved.
It is worth visiting Chachoben; it is pleasant, not too long, and the stop at the beach is appreciated. Being a less known place than others in the Riviera Maya, it is interesting to visit
If you interested in history its worth other wise costa maya port layover its not worth just feel like contributing to local economy

Great experience at Chacchoben! The ruins were beautiful, but the beach time was a little short. Carlos was great—friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable. Overall, a wonderful trip!
Fun cultural experience but wish it was longer at the beach. Getting to location was easy from the port. We had Carlos as our guide who was amazing! Gave interesting facts and even got pineapple and mango with Chile seasoning. Long drive from Port and did a stop for people who didn't want to go to beach and wanted to return to port. Onky had 50 minutes at beach which was hardly worth it. Barely able to get food and back to bus. Overall it was a cool experience but wish could do beach longer
