We had a private tour of Casablanca city tour for our family. It was wonderful experience for us. Our guide/ driver Mr. Achraf Bellabchara was amazing. He was very patient and friendly and took care of all our needs. He made us feel at home. We also had another guide, sorry I am not able to recollect his name, he was excellent and very knowledgeable about the city. He took us to Hassan II Mosque and explained to us very well and Islamic way of prayer and their culture. It was very interesting to know about this. Over all our experience was excellent and we will highly recommend this tour.
We have traveled globally and used Viator many times for tours. We were on a cruise with a stop in Casablanca on May 6, 2023 and were very much looking forward to touring Casablanca and learning about its culture and history. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. First, we were given email instructions where to meet our guide. It was NOT where all the other buses, vans, and autos were gathered to meet the ship. Instead, we ended up WALKING TWO MILES ON UNSAFE STREETS to where the young tour "guide" was waiting. Hot and sweaty, we were frustrated from the beginning. The guide knew and shared NOTHING in detail about Casablanca. He had clearly memorized a list of about a dozen things to say to tourists and knew nothing more. EVERY stop we made, he let us out of the car on our own, indicated where he would be parked waiting for us, and provided no historical details and perspectives of the locations. On this tour, WE BECAME OUR OWN TOUR GUIDES. We hung around other tour groups and listened to their knowledgeable guides at key sites, and we asked questions of shop keepers and other vendors who were friendly and conversational with us. In comparison to the conversations with had with other ship passengers, WE DID NOT HAVE A TOUR, ONLY A CAR RIDE TO SITES. We deserve a FULL REFUND OR CREDIT of our expensive Casablanca tour fee of $220.86 (which included no food or water; when we asked for water, he ran into a store and purchased four small bottles). The private tour was good. The guide didn't talk too much which was a plus. Having time to spend in the mosque was great and really interesting. Then he let us walk along the beach for a ways. He did take us to an old medina souk market that was not very interesting and very junky. He then took us to the new medina (where youneed to have local dirhams currency. It was interesting and crowded, but fun to see and we bought a few things. We did get a little lost, but managed to find his car again. The Mercedes van was quite comfortable. He needs to communicate with future customers about meeting far from the ship, outside the port as he only did this the day of the tour. W ehad to walk over 20 minutes with no sideewalk to the very outside gates of Port gate number 1. Since Casablanca is the largest port in Africa, it has 4 port gates. If we hadn't happeen to run into a local we wouldn't have known which gate. Consequently the tour started half hour late and he wasn't evident with his sign. We almost got into a taxi of another tour agent who said we were to be with him...it was then that our guide showed up. It caused us a lot of anxiety.
Time Out Travel team did a great job for our Marrakech to Casablanca day trip. Elhoucine did an outstanding job coordinating with our driver and guide and for planning out the day trip. Elhoucine was very responsive throughout the day of our trip and stayed on top of things to ensure everything meets our expectations. Even though got off to a rocky start yesterday as the team was not able to find our reservation, but they recovered well and organized everything overnight. Overall, we had a very good experience with Elhoucine, our driver and also our guide in Casablanca. Well done, Time Out Team!!!
