We did 2 tours and had an incredible experience on the Cape Coast Historical Day From start to finish, everything was well-organized, and their warm hospitality made the journey enjoyable. The team shared fascinating stories and insights about the castles, forts, and the region’s rich history, which gave us a deeper understanding of Ghana’s past. One of the highlights of trip is the Kakum Canopy Walk, walking on those suspendind Bridges was breathtaking and adventurous, Enoch’s passion for preserving and sharing this heritage was truly inspiring. I felt both educated and connected throughout the tour. It was more than just a trip it was a powerful and memorable journey into history and culture of Ghana and Africa

You should know that due to construction, the road to Cape Coast is just terrible and it takes about 4 hours to get there. Enoch and Hamza were excellent guides and told us about the road conditions ahead of time so we were prepared. Hamza did a great job driving and handling the bumpy road. Enoch and Hamza were very knowledgeable and gave us a great history of Ghana and pointed out areas of interest along the way. Be advised that the hike to the canopy at the park is very steep. Enoch and Hamza were very kind and patient and helped me make the climb. The tours at the castles were very informative and sobering. If you want to learn more about the slave trade and the inhumane treatment of Africans, then this is the tour for you. I highly recommend it. It's a long day so bring snacks.

We are very pleased that we took this tour, such a powerful and sobering trip. If travelling from Accra, it is a long drive but it is completely worth it. The journey also gave us the opportunity to experience more of the real Ghana along the way. Enoch expertly guided us through out the day and shared many interesting insights to the history and modern day Ghana. Fully recommend!
Hi there Jackie, Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! we are glad the tour was both impactful and enriching, we are sorry about the long drive, its due to the ongoing road reconstruction and Expansion that is being carried out by the government of Ghana and Ecowas, which will improve accessibility once completed. we are Happy to hear Enoch made the day even more memorable with his knowledge and guidance. Your recommendation will definitely encourage others to take the trip and immerse themselves in both the history and the present-day culture. The castles was great. I have a much better understanding of the horrors of the slave trade. We didn’t make it to the canopy since we ran out of time due to traffic. Both guide and driver were great. The biggest negative is it is a long drive on mostly unpaved roads. Be prepared to be in the car 5 hours each way.
Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s powerful to hear how visiting the castles gave you a deeper understanding of the tragic history of the slave trade. We’re glad your guide and driver made the journey worthwhile, we are deeply sorry about the traffic & bumpy road on the Kasoa to Winneba Stretch, its due to the ongoing road reconstruction and Expansion that is being carried out by the government of Ghana and Ecowas, which will improve accessibility once completed. We visited two different castles that were used by Europeans to ship humans to become slaves. Well worth visiting to visualize the horror these men and women suffered. The guide and driver were both great. One important issue to note is it is a long drive from Accra ( roughly 5 hours each way) over bumpy and often unpaved roads.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Visiting those castles is indeed a powerful and sobering reminder of the suffering endured by so many men and women during that dark chapter of history. It’s good to hear that both your guide and driver made the journey worthwhile. One important note for future visitors is that the drive from Accra is quite long and the roads can be bumpy and often unpaved due to the ongoing road reconstruction and expansion project being carried out by the Government of Ghana & Ecowas, which will eventually make the journey from Accra to Cape Coast smoother and more accessible. Our Guide, Zaid, was extremely knowledgeable, and answered all of our questions. The experience of knowing that slavery was horrible, but learning that it was more horrific for our ancestors than I knew. The emotions that standing in the spaces where these horrors took place, were raw. How ever, walking through the Door Of Returns, created a connection to my people of the Motherland that will never be forgotten.

i did two trips with Enoch and his team at Best of Africa Travels. I had an amazing time exploring Elmina Castle and Cape Coast Castle, where the deep history moved me profoundly, and the Kakum Canopy Walk was an unforgettable adventure high above the rainforest—breathtaking views and a true thrill. I highly recommend Enoch and his Driver Hamza for an amazing job done. Thanks guys!

I had a great day out with Zaid. As a solo traveler, every company charged extra. BOA charged a flat fee. Not only was I a solo traveler, no one else had signed up for the tour that day. So it was just Zaid, the driver, and myself all day. They were professional and very courteous, and I didn't feel isolated or awkward being with 2 strangers and just me. I'm tall and the car we were in for just the three of us was very comfortable. It was a very long and bumpy drive from Accra to Cape Coast (be warned), but a good day nonetheless.
