Kanjonen har fått sitt namn från sin hästskoform, definierad av två coulees som rinner ut i Kneehill Creek, en biflod till Red Deer River. Kanjonens två armar är ungefär 5 km långa vardera och sträcker sig från Highway 9 till Kneehill Creek, vid två tidigare gruvsamhällen Dunphy och Gatine. I sin tur ger det namnet till Horseshoe Canyon Formation.

En hoodoo är en hög tunn stenspira gjord av sandsten med en hård och tät sten som sitter ovanpå, som en hatt. Eller som skylten vid parken beskriver dem: "Eroderade pelare av mjuk sandstensklippa toppad med en fjädrande mössa." Hoodooerna bildas under hundratals år genom erosion från frysning, frost, smälta och vind. Med tiden eroderar sandstenen till långa skorstensliknande formationer som blir stående eftersom den hårda ”hatten” hindrar den från att helt erodera bort. Den hårda stenen på toppen av hoodoos skyddar det mjuka lagret av sandsten under från elementen som skapar den udda formen. Men när de väl når stadiet av att vara de söta sagoskorstenarna håller de inte länge! Det sägs att vart 100:e år tappar de 2-4 fot.
Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site är en inaktiv kolgruva i Alberta, Kanada som drevs från 1936 till 1979. Den anses vara Kanadas mest kompletta historiska kolgruva och är hem för landets sista stående träkolstipp, och den största fortfarande står i Nordamerika. Det utsågs till en Alberta Provincial Historic Resource 1989 och en National Historic Site of Canada 2002.
"Världens största dinosaurie" är namnet på en turistattraktion längs vägen i form av en modell Tyrannosaurus rex
Den här berömda lilla kyrkan byggdes ursprungligen 1968 och fungerar som en plats för tillbedjan och meditation.

Royal Tyrrell Museum, som rankats som ett av världens främsta paleontologimuseer, öppnade i september 1985. Siffror för 2018 visar att Royal Tyrrell Museum välkomnade mer än 450 000 besökare.

Manny, our driver was amazing! He was friendly and accomodating, and I felt safe as a passenger. He kept the cabin of the clean van cool as it was warm outside. Royal Tyrell Museum was absolutely astonishing- exceeding my high expectations. To me the experience was well worth the money, as it was the best way to feel comfortable and safe to see exhibits I have long looked forward to from the other side of the world.

We stayed in Calgary for a week without renting a car, so arranging a couple private day trips was necessary. We decided to splurge on a private tour...and ABest is a good firm to go with. Our driver, Ali was very chatty, and had a lot of great tips and stories. Only snafu was a miscommunication about stopping at an old ghost town that we had no interest in and have visited similar in our western US trips.

I love dinosaurs so I have always wanted to visit the Royal Tyrell Museum in Drumheller! I happened to be in Calgary on my way home from a big trip so I decided to see if it was reasonable to fit in a visit to Drumheller while I was there. Thanks to Abest Transport & Tour, it was! Our driver was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, sorry I didn't have better cold-weather clothing to get out and explore more! My main goal was to the see the Royal Tyrell and it was excellent. There are so many cool specimens there, including a surprising number of intact and mostly intact ones. Those are so rare to find but Alberta is one of the best places for it. If you also love dinosaurs the Royal Tyrell in Drumheller is a must-see.

Amman was very pleasant and he was great when my son thought he lost his wallet, which ended up In between the seats in van, then my car keys were also in my son pocket which fell with wallet but we didn’t realize til after Amman dropped us off at hotel. I called Amman and he went back checked that that evening, he didn’t find, but called the next morning and asked if he could double check and he did find the keys!!!

Or tour guide Aljay was personable and very flexible to accommodate our tour wants and food sensitivities. Enjoyed the stop in the Badlands at Horseshoe Canyon and the later stop to view hoodoos. The Royal Tyrell Museum is excellent.

We visited the horseshoe canyon, hoodoos, Tyrell Museum and many more places all within a day; this was great for us, especially since we had a short stay in Alberta and wanted to see Drumheller and the Badlands. I highly recommend this tour, and I am looking forward to booking another tour with them soon.

Our guide for the day was amazing! This was by far one of the highlights of our trip. Jef was friendly, knowledgeable and just overall amazing. The tour was catered to our interests which was fantastic for a group of Girl Guides from Ontario! While we there were too many fake dinosaurs (inside joke with Jef) we enjoyed every minute of the trip. We were very grateful he took a detour at our request to hit up McDonalds for some cold beverages and some ice cream on a hot day. We will recommend ABest Transport & Tour Services to everyone.
