After travelling the whole length of India by rickshaw we ate a lot of food. We decided to book our tour with Anirban and his wife , ate 14 different food items and walked the streets learning everything about kalkuta along the way. Well worth the money , you’ll leave with full belly’s and a full mind! Couldn’t recommend highly enough!
It was a wonderful tour. Guide explained the history and culture really well. The food tasting was amazing.
Embarking on The British heritage Walk was an extraordinary experience that transported me through time, immersing me in the fascinating tapestry of British Kolkata. Led by an exceptionally knowledgeable and captivating guide, every step of this journey unfolded like a captivating story, bringing the rich history of the city to life. The meticulous attention to detail displayed by our guide was truly commendable. With an unrivaled depth of understanding, she effortlessly unraveled the significance behind each landmark, weaving together the narratives of the past and present. Her passion for the subject matter was infectious, making the entire excursion a truly enlightening adventure. As we strolled along the streets, I couldn't help but feel a profound connection to the bygone era. The guide's eloquent explanations transported me back in time, enabling me to envision the grandeur and legacy of British Kolkata. The walk not only acquainted me with the historical facts but also evoked a sense of nostalgia and wonder, breathing life into the hidden heritage that lies within the city's labyrinthine lanes. Kolkata, often hailed as the cultural capital of India, revealed a side of itself that I had never experienced before. The British Walk became a portal to the city's secret gems, offering a unique perspective on its colonial past. It was a delightful journey of discovery, unearthing hidden architectural marvels, elegant edifices, and captivating stories that shaped the city's identity. For those fortunate enough to find themselves in Kolkata, I wholeheartedly recommend indulging in the mesmerizing world of The British heritage Walk.
It was an amazing and insightful experience. Will never be looking at those building in the same way. Each corner, each small detail had a story to tell and Ms. Bratati didn't leave anu detail behind. She had structured each and every thing in such an engaging way. This experience will surely be staying with me.
Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback 😊 . Looking forward to meet you again
Loved this tour, went to about 9 different stalls/restaurants and had a wide variety of food and drinks. The guide was great about pointing out the history and background of everywhere we went. So many are so afraid of eating like locals, they miss out on so much. The guide was great about pointing out where not to eat. Highly recommend this tour
Enjoyed a two hour British Heritage stroll around the buildings and streets of the colonial area of central Kolkata. Sunday was certainly a good day to pick with little or no traffic. Bratati was a most engaging and knowledgeable guide. We certainly appreciated the stop for a cup of reviving chai at one of the popular Sunday breakfast street stalls. It would have been nice to have been able to enter one or two of the buildings but I am assuming that as it was Sunday all where closed.
