Great view of the Andes and worth the ticket price. It is very cold in the winter, bring a hat and scarf and thick socks. I was expecting to visit native cottage industry shops during the traditional folk picnic, but it was more Spanish influence. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and kept us on schedule. The stop at the chocolate store was very crowded. While it was nice to have a little something sweet after lunch, there was little time to enjoy it since it took so long to get through the line. Same with the goat cheese stop. I would have preferred one or the other and spent a little more time, or had the tour last a little longer to include both.

I had never been to Chile and this was the perfect tour. it allowed me to see the city, countryside and mountains as well as make some friends on the van. I was a little worried about the reservation and how they contact you the night before the trip to let you know your pickup time, but other than that, everything was great (even the food at the lunch spot that I saw mixed reviews on). The driver/guide, Gonzalo, was great. he was socialbe, informed and readily answered any/all questions in English and Spanish. he was also very helpful with pictures and letting us know where to get the best photo. also, when i was researching this tour, i noticed several reviewers commented on the driving/speed and paying for the bathroom. did the speed seem faster than I would drive a van in some areas. . . yes. BUT, Gonzalo always managed the speed and I always felt safe and think its moreso about perspective and important to remember that a) these drivers are very familiar with the road, and b) countries have different "unspoken" road rules that as a tourist we may not know. Regatding the bathrooms, there are no bathrooms while you are walking around the mountain but the one that you stop at after hiking and before lunch that charges you a minimal fee. side note: I did not get coffee at the first stop (which is also the 1st bathroom break) and could have done without the stop at the chocolate/candy shop before heading back to the city but realize this was all part of the experience. and remember it will be colder in the mountains . . .

By far the best trip of the trip! The guide Ignacio was extremely helpful, attentive and gave us plenty of freedom to enjoy each stop at our pace. Apart from the Embalse, the rest of the scenario is simply amazing, with stunning landscapes, lots of contact with nature and various experiences throughout the day. A tip for anyone: next to the restaurant where we stopped for lunch there is a small trail that leads to a beautiful camping and picnic area. When we went, the place was completely empty and there was a secluded lake, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the landscape. I recommend this tour without thinking twice!

We were able to see beautiful landscapes and we are left with that. But the truth is that several situations occurred that seemed out of place to us. In principle, upon arriving at the place to have breakfast and rent the clothing, the guide Braulio emphasizes a lot that there is a lot of mud and wind on the hike, so we prepared by renting the gear. Since we didn't know the place and trusted what he said, we rented pants and boots. While doing the hike, we realized that our own footwear was fine and we would have been much more comfortable. We ended up taking off the rental pants and carrying them in our backpack, which meant being burdened, spending money unnecessarily, and walking uncomfortably in those boots since the path was just dirt. You do need to dress warmly, but all the gear they make you rent is not necessary, at least on the day we had (sunny). When we returned and were already inside the city, the guide stopped the van, a white car stopped behind us, he handed them something and we continued; it seemed strange to us. Further on, he stopped the van again to tell us that due to a protest taking place on Alameda Street, he would not be able to drop each of us off at our pickup location. If he did, it would take 3 more hours. He left us all at a point where you could choose to leave by Uber, subway, or bus. Luckily we had the money to take an Uber, but the truth is we felt very insecure about being left in a place we don't know, being foreigners. Without even waiting for everyone to figure things out, he left us and that was it. It was quite stressful to have to go through that situation, when we were already tired from the tour, wanting to return to the hotel, we felt it was not the best way to end the day. A shame.

Great day trip worth doing from Santiago - our guide Edison was excellent and very clear on what was happening. Good tight itinerary without feeling rushed - enough time to go for a short easy (4km return) hike to the reservoir, which was worth it. Edison was clear on options / timing / recommendations - I would have been confident bringing people of different abilities on this trip. The drive is beautiful, so even though it is a long time in a van the time is well spent. If doing this trip in winter bring warm layers for outdoor hike (areas in the shade can be cold, everything warms up quickly once the sun is out) - I wish I’d worn thermal leggings under my jeans - but you can rent warm clothing if you don’t have with you at the coffee stop en route. Check the weather forecast before you go to make sure you get your clothing right - the day definitely warms up, but if it was windy I can see it getting even colder! Overall trip significantly exceeded expectations - you’re on a well-trodden tourist trail, but it didn’t feel too contrived or generic, and the stops were good (including the lunch spot, which was much higher quality and nicer to be at than the sorts of places often where group tours end up). Slight issue with pick-up at start of day, but company clearly communicated what was happening, and Edison did a great job of making sure that didn’t affect our overall day / timing.

The walk was amazing. Super fun tour, with magnificent landscapes and various things to do. A special attention to the guide Ivan, who conduct very well the tour from beginning to end. Very fun and a great photographer.

The trip started very early in the morning. Ivan was there on time to pick me up. From the first moment he showed a very good willingness to make the experience unforgettable.
