Bukarest Smyckestillverkning Workshop i en arbetsstudio

Beskrivning

I was fortunate enough to have a 1:1 experience with Amir, who guided me through the process of making a pair of earrings. Since it was 1:1, I got to make something more intricate than what I had expected, and Amir showed me my options and gave me the opportunity to practice techniques on small scrap pieces before adding the details to my earrings. He was patient with me, and also shared stories of working with the Roma artists and his experience living in Bucharest as a person of colour. I’m in love with the earrings I created, and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. They also have an adorable shop cat who adored getting attention - great bonus! The shop itself is a bit tricky to find, but there’s a video on google maps that was very helpful for me as a non-Romanian speaker. I highly recommend doing this class!
I attended this workshop today with Amir, and it was one of the most memorable experiences of my time in Romania. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was calm, welcoming, and creative. The workshop takes place in a real working studio, giving you the chance to experience a traditional craft process firsthand. We each chose a design at the beginning and were then guided through every step of creating our own piece, learning techniques and working with the materials ourselves. What made the experience especially meaningful was leaving with a beautiful piece that I had made with my own hands. Knowing that these traditional designs are crafted from materials such as brass and copper made it feel even more connected to the local culture and heritage. It is something I will treasure for years as a reminder of my time in Bucharest. Romania has such a rich tradition of craftsmanship, and this workshop offers a wonderful way to experience that heritage through making rather than simply observing. Whether you are travelling solo, with a partner, or with friends, and whether you are naturally creative or trying something new for the first time, the experience is accessible, enjoyable, and deeply rewarding. A special thank you to Amir, who was a wonderful host and teacher. His warmth, patience, and guidance made the entire experience feel relaxed and enjoyable from beginning to end. If you are looking for an authentic, hands-on experience in Bucharest and want to take home something far more meaningful than a souvenir bought in a store, I cannot recommend this workshop highly enough.
