Beskrivning

Let me start by saying my day was perfection . The Zoo was meticulously kept , every one was super friendly . The animals looked well cared for . On beautiful grounds . So many exquisite creatures to behold . I would give this zoo 10 stars if I could . FYI , Wear good walking shoes .
Tickets are a bit expensive, but the experience is genuinely pretty good, this is a very well taken care of zoo and you can see that the money goes to good use. Saw one of the young mandril's leap at the window to a kid taking a picture of him. That was pretty funny. The animals seem pretty happy.
We enjoyed our day visiting the Bronx Zoo. The day was a warm one but with all the beautiful trees and walking areas it was delightful. We were very impressed how many animals we saw in their natural settings and the variety of birds and reptiles.
It's a lovely zoo, and going with young kids or even teens will be a good experience. It was not super crowded, but it was hot as blazes. The mistake I made was not knowing where the best entrance / exit to catch a subway was. Entry worked well - exit, not so much. Maybe a little more help / info about that would be good. We walked WAY out of our way on a busy highway, because I just didn't know and GPS didn't provide the guidance I needed. For non-New Yorkers, it might be helpful to put a little info on that into written materials.
The Bronx Zoo is an amazing experience for the whole family. It is one of the most famous wildlife conservation parks in the world, featuring animals from across the globe. The zoo provides exceptional educational opportunities and highlights the importance of preserving nature as the human population continues to grow. The animals have spacious habitats that allow them plenty of room to roam, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend visiting the Bronx Zoo if you're in the Bronx. It's a memorable and worthwhile experience for visitors of all ages.
"A big kid in a candy store" is the best way to describe my day trip to the Bronx Zoo. I made the two-hour journey from Brooklyn to the Bronx because the region's premier zoo had long been on my bucket list, and it certainly did not disappoint. Getting there was straightforward: the 4 train to the Bronx followed by the BxM12 bus brought me right to the zoo. I did find the admission price a bit steep at $47 for a senior ticket, but once inside, it was easy to see where the money goes. The zoo is absolutely massive, yet laid out quite well. Better directional signage would have been helpful, but the pictograms worked reasonably well, and staff members were stationed throughout the grounds and always available to answer questions. One of the highlights was the accessible monorail, which provides a relaxing way to see a large portion of the zoo. There was also a shuttle service, though it did not appear to be wheelchair accessible. I appreciated the thoughtful signage letting visitors know when animals were outside if indoor habitats appeared empty. Another standout feature was the extensive use of large glass viewing areas, creating an immersive experience that made me feel remarkably close to the animals. They appeared calm, comfortable, and well cared for. Because it was a fairly hot day, spotting some animals required peering through bushes and dense vegetation, but that only added to the feeling of observing them in a more natural environment. The gorillas were the stars of the day for me. They were absolutely enormous, fascinating to watch, and truly awe-inspiring. One piece of advice: get there when the zoo opens at 10 a.m. It became crowded very quickly, especially with families and young children. As a power wheelchair user, navigating around excited kids darting in every direction could be challenging at times. That said, the zoo's pathways and routes are very powerchair-friendly. Visitors using manual wheelchairs may find the zoo more demanding simply because of how large and spread out the grounds are. After five hours of exploring, I left tired but happy. The day was enjoyable, adventurous, educational, and fascinating. Most of all, it reminded me what it feels like to be a big kid in a candy store. #BronxZoo #TysAdventures26 #BronxNY #MTA
It was wonderful, I would do this again and again. Perfect way to start the summer experiencing new things
Very nice zoo, with historic appeal. We were prepared to walk but found animal exhibits far apart and somewhat hidden the building exhibits were much more in my liking such as the world of birds and that alone worth it to me. Otherwise I’ve found the SD zoo more visitation friendly and diverse and even the Jax zoo better. However a good visit to one of the famous historical zoos.
It was great. Walked in and they suggested to take monorail. Saw jungle world first and thst was cool. Monorail is a MUST. It was great. Those exhibits can pretty much only be seen that way. After, we went to bird exibit, tiger mountain and then the first aid center. Wood splinter. They took care of it instantly. Overall had a great time.
Best selection and variety of animals. Although they’re caged, the animals are treated well and their habitat is close to real. It is free on Wednesday. Good place for the kids to see animals they wouldn’t otherwise see.
