Följ i fotspåren av två av Skottlands mest kända hjältar, William Wallace och Robert the Bruce. Dessa krigare kämpade under 1200- och 1400-talet under striderna i Skottlands självständighetskrig. Klättra uppför National Wallace-monumentet för att se det berömda Wallace-svärdet och skala väggarna i Stirling Castle, som gav bakgrunden till två av Skottlands mest berömda slag. Vår första plats vi kommer att besöka idag är National Wallace Monument. Ett av Stirlings mest utmärkande landmärken med utsikt över Skottlands seger vid slaget vid Stirling Bridge den 11 september 1297. Detta är en plats där historien är något du kan röra vid och känna när du följer historien om Sir William Wallace, patriot , martyr och Guardian of Scotland. Njut av historien och den fantastiska utsikten från Wallace-monumentet, högt uppe på Abbey Craig där Wallace slog läger innan hans heroiska strid.
Strax efter besöker vi Stirling Castle som erbjuder fantastisk utsikt över Forth Valley och de historiska slagfälten. Stirling Castle är en av Skottlands mest historiska platser, som var hem för Stewart-kungarna och drottningarna genom århundradena. Höjdpunkter inkluderar Great Hall, Chapel Royal, The Regimental Museum, Great Kitchens, Tapestry Studio och Queens Palace, som din guide kommer gärna att ta dig igenom. Bevittna sevärdheterna och ljuden från medeltida strid från första hand inklusive gamla stridsstrategier, vapen och rustningar. Varje turné kulminerar med ett besök i Battle Room. Här kommer du att se Bruces avgörande seger mot alla odds innan du tog chansen att återskapa slaget vid Bannockburn och ta kontroll över den virtuella slagfältet. Efter din turné tar vi den korta resan tillbaka till ditt boende.

En av Stirlings gömda pärlor med en enorm historisk betydelse. Det var här Robert Bruce höll sitt första parlament efter slaget vid Bannockburn 1314. Legenden säger att en del av Sir William Wallace är begravd på det gamla klostrets område.

We scheduled the Braveheart Experience thru our local travel agent. This tour can also be scheduled directly thru Trip Advisor or the tour operator, Alba Experiences. James McKinlay is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Scottish history. His company vehicle is very comfortable and he provides water, snacks, and a dram of whiskey on the tour. We first stopped at the Battle of Bannockburn Experience for one hour. Next, we stopped at Stirling Castle for two hours followed by the Wallace National Monument for one hour. We had lunch at the Wallace Monument prior to climbing the stairs and visiting the artifacts. James also added a bonus stop to see the Kelpies at The Helix Park. I highly recommend this tour, as well as, an Outlander Tour by Alba Experiences. James acted in two episodes of Outlander’s Season 3 and his Mother’s family has the surname of Fraser. His relatives fought at Culloden. James has a vested interest in sharing his family’s history!

Alba experiences with Owner James as our driver and guide was beyond Excellant. James has a deep passion and knowledge for Scotland and it’s history. Story telling while presenting us the facts is a gift only few can claim. James does it with ease. He was careful with my husband and I and walked at our speed with numerous comfort breaks along the way. I wish we had booked more tours with him.

James has a passion for the history of Scotland that pours out of him. He is proud of his country and so knowledgeable about its history. His love and enthusiasm is contagious. He told great stories and helped us understand what happened at these battles and why. He had also asked us if we had any limitations and worked with us for the very best experience possible. The second of two tours with James and Alba Experiences during our time in Scotland. For those who've had their curiosity piqued by the movie BRAVEHEART, this tour dives deep into the actual events surrounding the lives of William Wallace and Robert the Bruce and the their fight for Scottish independence. James again impressed with his vast knowledge of history and insight into the Battles of Stirling Bridge and Bannockburn. An excellent tour for those who not only want to visit sites of historical significance but also leave with a greater understanding of those who were involved. Another experience that i cannot recommend enough. For those interested in ANY tour in Scotland, you must give James a call.
