Vår historiska tur börjar vid ett av Bostons mest undervärderade underverk av arkitektur: South Station. Vi ska analysera den enorma örnen och klockan som dominerar fasaden. Notera: Turen är över 1,5 miles lång, med mer än 18 ljudberättelser, och tar ca 1 - 2 timmar att slutföra. Nytt, livstidsåtkomst, ingen utgång. När vi går längs Bostons Harborwalk ser vi ut över vattnet för en glimt av en verklig sprängning från det förflutna: ett kolonialskepp full av teburar! Vi kommer att lära oss om händelserna i Bostons Tea Party men vi kommer också att dyka djupare: vad som verkligen orsakade detta upplopp? Varför var skatterna så höga? Vad hade ett fjärran internationellt krig att göra med tepriset i Boston?
Tvärs över gatan hittar vi ett fantastiskt exempel på modern arkitektur med Federal Reserve. När vi går förbi lär vi oss de spännande historierna bakom det intetsägande namnet.
På Russia Wharf är vi officiellt i början av vår Harborwalk-resa och vår resa in i det förflutna. Vi lär oss om den blomstrande internationella handeln under kolonialtiden ... grunden som senare skulle leda till det episka Boston Tea Party.
De brutala hamnstornen är otillåtna. Brutalism var all raseri på 1970-talet. Idag polariserar stilen observatörer. Vissa människor ser en slags konstig skönhet i de glesa, ansträngande strukturerna. Andra ser, ja, helt enkelt fula byggnader! Dessa dagar kan du alltid identifiera stilen var som helst med sitt dystra, fästningliknande utseende. Vi får lära oss om tornen, Bostons kamp mellan prisvärt och lyxigt boende och ett av stadens mest ambitiösa projekt: att städa upp den här hamnen.
Vår resa tar oss till Rowe's Wharf - uppkallad efter en av tesmugglarna som uppmuntrade "Tea Party"! Vi lär oss om John Rowe och hans äventyr med lagen när vi går igenom.
The Harbour Hotel är en fantastisk arkitektur som blandar modernt och kolonialt stilar sömlöst. Dess 80-fots kopparkupol innehåller en glaskupol. Om du går till centrum av valvet och tittar rakt upp kan du se hela toppen av kupolen till glaskupolen ovan.
Vår tur längs den natursköna Harborwalk slutar på en av Bostons mest historiska platser: Long Wharf. Från koloniala strider mot britterna till moderna folkmassor av turister är denna Wharf fortfarande en hotspot från Boston. Njut av utsikten och historien när vi avslutar vår historia vid detta natursköna stopp.
Vi närmar oss nu ett populärt stopp i Boston och längs Harborwalk: Akvariet! Denna enorma attraktion är delvis byggd över hamnen, vilket ger akvariet tillgång till den naturliga miljön i Bostons hamn.
Harborwalk är 43 miles lång, men vi kommer att fokusera på det historiska Waterfront District från South Station till Long Wharf. Det är bara cirka 1 mil. Vi kommer att täcka allt från Boston Tea Party till de nyaste skyskraporna längs stranden.

Park at Harbor Garage for this experience, it starts around the N.E. Aquarium. The walk is like a sidewalk thing around the buildings, right against the water and the buildings so it is right against, it curves with the landscape. VERY nice experience. When you get to one of the spots with the app, it automatically tells you about the area which you arrived. Super interesting and a great job/informative.

A detailed guide with just enough of an experience of the Harbor Walk. The stop near the Tea Party Museum was great. You can go in the gift shop without buying a ticket to the museum.

Easy to load and use the app. GPS assures that tour aligns with the user’s location. Narration was interesting and educational. Using the app was far better than walking aimlessly through the city. I’ll be sure to look up additional tours when I’m touring other cities. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed this GPS audio tour. Basically, you will along a Google Maps-like app to tour around the Seaport area of Boston. As you walk to the different stops, the app uses GPS to play the information about what you are seeing. The narrator was very engaging and funny. The tour was a good length and was very interesting. The sites were great and it was a beautiful and fun afternoon!
