Resplan

Delightful museum highlighting the Bordeaux region. Starting with the Celtic tribes, there is a through, but understandable, timeline covering people, places, techniques, and other aspects of the region’s development. Don’t miss this 1-1.5 hour self directed, audio supported tour.
The process was straight forward once onsite. We did a self-paced look through the museum, listened to a short presentation for the Bordeaux region, and participated in a wine tasting.
It was very informative regarding the history of wine. It is a self guided tour. My husband downloaded the audio and we followed the numbering.
It is a must-visit place for lovers of all kinds; of our city, of Bordeaux wine, of History, of the bonds between people and of time passing... Montaigne and Montesquieu would have loved to stroll in these cellars where magic mingles with daydreaming and forgetting the daily grind. So head over to Rue Borie, let yourself be carried through time and don't forget to bring back the precious bottles... they are the Aladdin's lamp of a world that only asks to stay alive... that of the human and their life story...
It was an interesting experience, and Emma, the girl from Tuscany who guided us through the tasting, was very nice and thorough in her explanations... The tasting was very pleasant, the pairing of raisins in chocolate with the wine was original... Highly recommended. PS: a special mention to all the girls at the museum (especially Emily if I remember the name correctly) because we had an accident in front of the museum and they helped and supported us first in calling for help on the phone and then upon the arrival of the firefighters. Heartfelt thanks.❤️ Sonia family and friends (Milan Italy)
A really interesting history which explains the importance of Bordeaux, the way the wine developed (storage, aging, bottling etc). The tasting was very informative and I feel I learnt something about the wine as well as enjoying it!
Very interesting exploration of wines in the city - learned a lot from this tour. Staff were very helpful and engaging and took delight in our enjoyment. Nice tasting afterwards. Merci!
This was included in the Bordeaux CityPass & I just turned up - no prior booking was required. The museum is effectively a couple of old cellars which are very well presented and takes you on a tour of wine production in Bordeaux through the ages. The wine tasting at the end involved a very good presentation on the wine region of Bordeaux and the tasting of two different wines. The shop includes many options of local wines along with other wine-based products. Definitely recommend! Very friendly wine expert giving the talk and leading the wine tasting.
Hello, Thank you so much for your comment, we are glad to know that you enjoyed your visit in our museum as well as the wine tasting ! We will be happy to welcome you again ! The team of the Wine and Trade Museum of Bordeaux
I visited the Musée du Vin et du Négoce de Bordeaux and did the self-guided tour. The experience begins with downloading an audio/guide via a QR code, which walks you through each part of the museum at your own pace. It’s easy to follow and allows you to move through the space comfortably. The highlight for me was the cave itself — the underground cellar is very impressive, with a strong sense of history. The artifacts and explanations about Bordeaux’s wine trade and négociant system were interesting and gave good context to the region’s wine culture. The wine tasting at the end was okay. It’s important to note that it’s not a flight of wines — instead, you receive one glass of wine representing a region they’ve chosen to highlight. If you’re expecting multiple tastings, this may feel a bit limited. Overall, it’s a worthwhile stop if you’re interested in the history of Bordeaux wine and want to see a traditional cellar setting.
A jewel I love the ancient coast preserved far from any junk effect The place itself is already a museum; the layout is respectful of the past. For me the prettiest museum in Bordeaux at present DO NOT CHANGE!
