De flesta andra turer börjar vid porten och återupplivar en manusrundtur av myter, legend och platta ut lögner som skrevs för att skilja besökare från deras pengar. Med mig får du en sjätte generationens Savannahian och akademiskt utbildad historiker med mer än 30 år i Savannahs gästfrihetsbransch som har insidan och som älskar att dela berättelserna. Allt detta och södra gästfrihet också! Dörr till dörr-service från centrum eller träffa mig på kyrkogården om du hellre vill köra själv. Gratis flaskvatten och allt annat du behöver för en promenad genom ekarna.

Komplett rundtur på kyrkogården, för det mesta genom vandring, men vi kör igenom resten på väg in och ut. Dess över 100 hektar, men vi koncentrerar vår vandring på den historiska sektionen. Allt för om priset på vad de andra turerna tar ut för att "träffa dig där ute.

Upphämtningsplatser och tider
Jag hämtar på alla hotell, B&B, värdshus och de många vagnstopparna runt Savannahs centrum cirka 20 minuter före turnétid. Jag ringer en timme innan för att ge en exakt upphämtningstid. Upphämtning måste ske i centrumområdet (Historic District och Victorian District) vid en lastningszon eller laglig vagnstopp. Om du är osäker, lägg bara in adressen till var du bor så meddelar jag dig det bästa stället att bli plockad upp. Så länge du befinner dig i eller nära min hämtningsradie i centrum, kommer jag förmodligen att kunna få dig till din VRBO eller INN. Jag kan INTE hämta söder om Victory Drive. Det är alldeles för långt borta för att göra upphämtningar på 20 minuter. Du måste träffa gruppen på Bonaventure Cemetery. Du kan också träffa turen på kyrkogården. Låt mig veta vad du vill göra efter att du har bokat din turné så att jag kan ordna.

THE GOOD: 1. GUIDE'S EXTENSIVE KNOWLEDGE: The guide is a local and has a great source of information and factual info about the stories of many grave sites. 2. AIR-CONDITIONED PICK UP: Very nice van and the guide is very accommodating to pick you up at your hotel. It was highly convenient. COULD BE IMPROVED: 1. 2-HRS OF INFO NON-STOP: I would limit it to the most interesting grave sites ( e.g. perhaps, choose 5 that are of most interesting and important ) and allow 20 mins of free walking around for tourists who want to explore on their own. Designate a meeting site after introducing the 5 most interesting graves ( 1 hr tops ) and then give 20 mins of free time to take photos and take it all in. Listening to extensive info with dates for 2 hrs can be a bit long in the hot sun. The tour can easily be 1.5 hrs. It should also be tailored to the crowd as there were some elderly in the crowd as well.
Our guide was very knowledgeable about the Cemetery. He was very helpful and informative.

Tim does it all himself, communication, pickup and return, and his own research to provide an authentic experience. I really enjoyed the historical facts and stories. Highly recommend!!!
Tim was great and so knowledgeable. The pickup spots were easy to find, and we got a lot of good information on the drive out there. He shared real history without any exaggerated stories or sensationalized details, which I really appreciated. The tour was informative, engaging, and well worth it. Very interesting event-host very knowledgable. Picked us up at our hotel, took us through cemetery, explained a lot about the history of the place, provided water, answered questions, and brought us back.
We really enjoyed this tour. The tour operator was very knowledgeable and we believe has a photographic memory given the details when asked. The cemetery is beautiful and very interesting given the times going back to Civil War era.
