Millionaires Viewpoint (som det är känt för lokalbefolkningen) är en av de vackraste vyerna i höglandet. Vi stannar ofta här och njuter av en frukostwhisky i kombination med choklad.
Atlantlax kan ofta ses hoppa över fallen, men även om laxen inte hoppar är detta ett absolut vackert stopp för att ta in luften och uppskatta den robusta naturliga skönheten i det skotska höglandet.
Dunrobin Castle & Gardens castle ser ut som om det är direkt ur en saga och ligger i det skotska höglandet ser det magnifikt ut. Familjen Sutherland, ägare till Dunrobin Castle, låter gästerna vandra genom många av dess vackra rum som ser ut som om de har frusit i tiden. Falkonervisningen är ofta en höjdpunkt - Andy (falkeneraren) har arbetat med rovfåglar i över 25 år och hans kunskap och passion lyser under hela presentationen. Dunrobin Castle har också magnifika trädgårdar ett underbart unikt museum och taxidermisamling. Ett besök i det skotska höglandet skulle inte vara komplett utan att besöka Dunrobin Castle & Gardens.
Carn Liath ligger bara 2 minuters bilresa norr om Dunrobin Castle och är ett bra exempel på en brosch - en typ av befästning som bara finns i Skottland. Det erbjuder också fantastisk utsikt över Dunorbin Castle
Äventyret går sedan söderut genom Golspie och via Loch Fleet till Dornoch, en av Skottlands mest pittoreska städer. Dornoch är hem för en fantastisk gyllene sandstrand och en golfbana i världsklass, men även utan dessa saker tar den dig bara till en annan tid helt och hållet. För den som vill köpa souvenirer finns det massor av knäppa små butiker som säljer allt från tweed och kashmir till lokalt tillverkade, handgjorda presenter, smycken och konstverk. Dornochs katedral drar också många besökare med en samling vackra målade glasfönster. Dornoch är också ett bra ställe att stanna till för lunch med massor av alternativ, inklusive ett lokalt bageri, ett konditori, en fisk- och skaldjursbil på stranden, Milk & Honey och Dornoch Castle Hotel som har en prisbelönt whiskybar.
Fantastiskt besökscenter med en kort film om destilleriet och möjligheten att köpa drams i deras bar. Vi kan också ringa i förväg och boka en rundtur på Glenmorangie för dem som är intresserade av att se hur single malt skotsk whisky produceras. Turer kostar från £20pp.
Ofta på väg tillbaka till Inverness stannar vi till på The Black Isle Brewery där de kommer att berätta allt om sin resa från en ödmjuk början till att producera några av de bästa ölsorterna i Skottland. Du kommer också att kunna prova lite utsökt öl och om du vill köpa några burkar att ta tillbaka till ditt hotell eller AirBnB kan du göra det också. Fantastiskt öl, fantastiska människor!!

We had a great time with Peter for our tour of the castle and gardens, finding some hairy coos, yummy whisky tasting, as well as a hike up to the Fyrish monument. Car was lovely and he was very good with our 12 and 14 year old kids.
Our tour guide Liam was absolutely outstanding! It was an incredible day made more enjoyable than expected! Kudos to Gavin for setting it up and Liam for delivering the day to us! This is a private tour worth EVERY pound !
We had a wonderful day visiting the Highlands with Gavin. We learned so many tidbits as we stopped at the various sites and tasted wonderful whiskys throughout the day. We will recommend him to everyone we know traveling to the Highlands.
Gavin is such a warm and comfortable companion that anything he suggests as tour destinations will be more than wonderful for your time in the Highlands. Our first/other tour with him was six years ago, and when we met again today it was as if we were old friends re-uniting. If you have a "bucket list" of sites to visit in Scotland, Gavin can help you tick those boxes. If you just want to enjoy your time in the area you're visiting, let him help you choose what to see. You'll make a host of great memories and, once home, you'll be recalling fondly the time you spent in his company. I'd give him ten stars if that were an option on TripAdvisor!
From the first inquiry, to the planning, to day-of, Gavin was top-notch to work with and his tour was a highlight of our highlands adventure! Do yourself a favor, ensure you are getting Gavin and his M series X5 diesel if you can - Gavin is GREAT and to cruise the highlands in a luxury SUV is a special treat! We are a family of 4 (kids 2.5 & 6 years) - Gavin picked us & our luggage up at the Glenmorangie Distillery, as we had stayed at the Glenmorangie House the night prior. Gavin had our luggage loaded by the time we got done with our distillery tour and we set off for Dunrobin Castle. His X5 M series diesel is a great luxury SUV to cruise the highlands in and the fact that he has screens and queued up movies for the kids is an added bonus! He gave fantastic history of the area on the way to the castle and we even stopped to watch some seals playing! Once we got to Dunrobin Castle, Gavin gave us the lay of the land and then let us loose while he waited just outside. We were able to tour at our leisure and he was ready to roll when we were. From Dunrobin we headed to Balblair Distillery for a quick tasting, which was quite fun. After the distillery we took a hike to Black Rock Gorge, a beautiful gorge which has appeared in Harry Potter movies. Afterwards, we drank whisky from the quaich and tasted some local chocolates. Finally, he got us to Inverness for check-in at our B&B. I cannot say enough positive things about Gavin - he is a professional, passionate about his homeland and will go out of his way to ensure you have a world-class experience!
