We have the package " 3D: Halong + Cat Ba Luxury” booked. The program was as follows: Pick up in Hanoi, check in on the ship (Victory Star), boat trip to the “Sung Sot cave” and “titop island”, overnight stay on the ship, visit “Hang Luon” (kayaking or bamboo boat), boat trip to the port, transfer by ferry to Cat Ba, visit National Park Cat Ba, visit “Trung Trang cave”, visit “Hang Quan Y”, check-in hotel “May Legend Cat Ba”, free time, overnight stay, check-out and transfer to Ninh Binh (we requested this way, Standard would be back to Hanoi). The food on the ship was excellent. However, it is very heavy on fish and seafood. Since we do not like this, we have announced this in advance and received the dishes accordingly with meat. Drinks were not included. The cabin was reasonably spacious and the bathroom was large and well equipped. A bottle of water was provided, this could be refilled free of charge. The staff was friendly and helpful. Diw excursions were entertaining and good, however it had a great many other tourists. The second night hotel on Cat Ba “The May Legend” was also great. The room was very well equipped and offered a beautiful view of the sea. The breakfast buffet was rich. The hotel complex had two pools (open until max. 8pm), spa and direct access to the beach. The bathing was very pleasant in the beautiful bay. All in all, the tour can be highly recommended! Support for Tripadvisor via whatsapp also worked smoothly.
We had a wonderful 3-day experience, including one night on the cruise and one night on Cat Ba Island. The cruise and the scenery were absolutely beautiful, with many different activities and very delicious food. We explored Cat Ba National Park and visited a wartime cave with a stunning view overlooking Lan Ha Bay. In particular, our hotel 5* on Cat Ba Island was located right on the beach of Lan Ha Bay — a breathtaking natural wonder of the world. We also booked a private car back to Hanoi, and they were very professional, arranging a vehicle immediately at a very reasonable price, especially during the Lunar New Year period. Meanwhile, we saw two other guests at our hotel asking around everywhere for transportation, but in the end, no company had available cars because during Lunar New Year, most drivers stop working to celebrate with their families. We felt truly lucky because our experience was worth every penny we spent. Most importantly, all 18 members of our family were happy together. That was the greatest gift of all — something no amount of money can buy. Thank you for organizing such a professional tour in Vietnam and for giving us so many meaningful experiences connecting two natural wonders of the world.
There is only one night on the boat, but the resort was very upmarket probably more expensive than other cruises. Be aware of the offered track with this package. It is not a walk through the forest, it is more like a vertical climb up very steep stairs and scrambling over cliff faces. Unless you are fit, don’t bother.
The absolute worst tour company in Vietnam and probably globally. They sent us times for 3 days to be ready and the morning of the oick up, no one contacted us UNTIL after the tour we were on, contacted them! Then, they told the staff and me in text that we would have a driver pick us up at the port when we returned andnto look for a sign with my name on it. There was no driver. Thankfully, our tour guide from the 1st tour helped us and they got us a grab to get to the 2nd port. A Grab...gor a $600 USD 'luxury' tour. We get to the other island, absolutely exhausted from all the mismanagement of the tour, that we asked to go to our hotel. We get to our hotel, we'll, most of it is closed off or not operating because it's off season. There are maybe 30 guests here and we still ended up with the worst room. The day for us to be picked up, we confirmed our pickup and decided to go to the spa...well...didn’t they change their mind and throughout my entire spa treatment, they changed our pick up time and our drop off location. Everything they had said in writing, they switched up and changed. Told us we were the first to be picked up - we were the last. Told us to be at the door for pick-up at Noon sharp, picked us up at 12:25. Told us we would be dropped off at our pick up location (as per our contract) NOPE...we ended up at their office and put into a taxi. Nothing this tour company promises is true. Avoid this tour company at all costs They will rip you off. You pay premium prices for bottom deals. So many better options for tours in Vietnam

Regarding the hotel location: the client stayed at Luxe Paradise Premium Hotel (Google Maps link provided: https://maps.app.goo.gl/pXVfXgniz3jB3dA56). This hotel is located in Ba Dinh District, which is outside the free pickup and drop-off area of this tour. Therefore, the client’s claim regarding hotel pickup and drop-off is incorrect. Additionally, the client referred to Flamingo Cát Bà Resort as a “hostel.” This statement is factually incorrect. Flamingo Cát Bà Resort is a certified 5-star hotel, officially recognized by the Vietnamese government, and is widely marketed as a 5-star property across all major sales channels (for example, Booking.com: https://bit.ly/46Dncfw). This is a 2 part mixed review! For the Cruise - Victory Star, they are the best in the business. Chloe is absolutely amazing and the entire crew and experience is fabulous. Super fun and energetic. Food is delicious and and the ship is clean and cozy. But why such a low score - the secind half of the tour was absolute garbage!! The tour operator- BC Family Tour or BC Indochina Tours is absolutely the worst garbage tour company in Vietnam. Avoid them at all costs. They claim itnis luxury, but I've slept in Hostels that are more luxurious. They are cheap and have no idea what they are doing. This has got to be the absolute worst experience! Do not book this tour! Stay away from this and book with another tour. Anything that this company does is garbage. Everyone on the bus was complaining and angry. If they could leave you on the road and take your money, they would. I feel horrible for the Cruise company for having to deal with this tour company.
These clients attempted in multiple ways to obtain a free tour. Despite this, we provided services beyond Viator’s listed inclusions, including: Complimentary pickup and drop-off outside the Hanoi Old Quarter They paid to join a group tour but later requested to travel independently, making this request only 10 minutes in advance They stayed at Flamingo Cát Bà Resort, a 5-star resort with a panoramic view of Lan Hạ Bay. This is the only genuine 5-star resort on Cát Bà Island and the highest-standard property available. However, the clients deliberately misrepresented it as a “hostel,” which is completely inaccurate. All our guests are carefully taken care of minute by minute, strictly following the itinerary and service standards published on Viator. We fully delivered the tour exactly as committed. If any guest expects to travel for free, this is not possible. Viator has clear and strict policies, and this case does not meet any criteria for a free tour or refund.
I had a wonderful time, cruise was great and crew so helpful. Food was very good on board. However there are a lot of other boats and the waters are crowded. I then went on to CatBa which was wonderful freaking and seeing the caves. However the main town is a big construction site and the harbour has been taken away for new buildings. Disappointing not to know this. I would have chosen a different hotel.
On 2nd of october we contacted bcfamiliytour via WhatsApp for a holiday that started on the 5th of october which was very spontanous. They created a great holiday plan for us, including trips like lan ha bay boat tour, ninh binh day tour, cat ba island half day tour and sapa. Sometimes it was only transfer, sometimes it was accomodation but the organisation and communication was always very easy. Things we wanted to organize on our own they let us do and all questions were answered immediately. Once we lost a mobile phone in a taxi they organized for us and they helped us within 2min to reach the driver and git the phone back immediately. Prices were completely compareable and often even lower than with other tour operators. They always offered several options for different price segments which made it easy to decide. All in all great experience and we would always recommend contacting and booking via bcfamilytour. Thanks again 👌
Our trip with family and friends was absolutely perfect, thanks to the dedicated and professional team. The cruise through Halong Bay, Lan Ha Bay, and our time on Cat Ba Island were truly breathtaking. Our tour guide, Victor, was incredibly enthusiastic, friendly, and knowledgeable about each destination. He shared fascinating insights about the local culture and history, and always made sure everyone felt safe, comfortable, and well cared for—just like traveling with a good friend. We also want to express our heartfelt thanks to Sam and Daisy, the local travel experts who supported us throughout the entire journey. From planning the itinerary and arranging transportation to answering every little question, they ensured everything went smoothly. The combination of a professional tour guide and a caring local team created a fun, warm, and stress-free experience. We truly felt that we were in good hands. Halong bay cruise was great Cat bar isl was disappointing the national park walk was only for people who were extremely fit and sure footed The town was crowded and I was scammed buy a neck/foot massage place
