Vår tur börjar med ett besök i Cholula, erkänd som en magisk stad för sin historiska och kulturella rikedom. Vi kommer att besöka den stora pyramiden i Cholula, världens största pyramidbas sett till volym. Högst upp ligger helgedomen Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, ett tempel från 1500-talet med en vacker utsikt över dalen. Efteråt beger vi oss till Ex Convento de San Gabriel, ett av de äldsta franciskanska komplexen i Mexiko, byggt på 1500-talet. Det utmärker sig för sin sobra arkitektur och sitt stora öppna kapell, nyckeln till evangeliseringen av regionen. Vi fortsätter på Plaza de la Concordia, stadens hjärta, omgivet av traditionella arkader. Slutligen besöker vi Santa María Tonantzintla-templet, känt för sin inhemska barockinredning från 1600- och 1700-talen, ett exempel på synkretismen mellan inhemsk tradition och den katolska tron.
Vi beger oss till den magiska staden Atlixco, en stad med förspansktalande rötter och stor betydelse under kolonialtiden för sin jordbruks- och textilproduktion. Tack vare sitt privilegierade klimat och färgglada plantskolor är det idag känt som "Blommornas Atlixco". Vårt första stopp blir utsiktsplatsen Cerro de San Miguel, en symbolisk plats krönt av kapellet tillägnat ärkeängeln Sankt Mikael, byggt på 1500-talet. Denna kulle var ett forntida ceremoniellt centrum och är för närvarande en av stadens mest representativa platser. Från toppen kan du njuta av spektakulära vyer och ta otroliga fotografier med vulkanerna Popocatépetl och Iztaccíhuatl som majestätisk bakgrund.
Vid vårt tredje och sista stopp besöker vi Ex Convento del Carmen, grundat 1608 av franciskaner vid foten av Cerro de San Miguel. Tillägnad Jungfru Maria av Carmen är det ett historiskt och religiöst landmärke i staden. När vi går ner ser vi de traditionella breda trapporna, vars trappsteg är dekorerade med väggmålningar av den lokala konstnären Juan Manuel Martínez Caltenco, med blommotiv som representerar Atlixcos identitet. Efteråt tar vi en paus på Ximitl Glassbutik för att smaka på säsongsbetonad hantverksglass. Vi fortsätter längs Calle de las Flores mot zócalo för att beundra Atlixco-kiosken, dekorerad med mosaik, och församlingen Santa María de la Natividad, från 1600-talet, och avslutar med väggmålningarna i kommunpalatset.

We were expecting a more walking tour of the cities but it was still ok going solo on our own. We booked a Spanish tour by error so we had to wing it. It’s was a few churches visit and shopping area like a Mercado mainly for the tour in both cities visited.

We had a wonderful experience on this tour. We appreciated the flexibility that Pablo showed us in taking us to visit some of the places that we requested, both in Cholula and Atlixco. The van was clean and the driver went out of his way to drop us off at home. Both destinations are a must for anyone new to the Puebla area. So much history in Cholula and Atlixco is one of the most charming Pueblo Magico cities that we've seen in Mexico This was my second trip with Bufon Tours and they are a first class company...well organized, reasonably priced, and flexible

The guide very professional, friendly and nice. The tour was scheduled for 9:00, which changed to 10:00, so we had no problem, thinking that the estimated tour time would be covered. I missed the visit to the nursery and the lunch time in Atlixco, from the visit to the nursery, told us that there was no longer time, our mistake was not to require him to take us. of the lunch time I do not even mention it, I only recommend a restaurant, in case we were interested in returning later. The tour ended at approximately 2:30.

Cholula and Atlixco were stunning! The church Nuestra Señora de Tonantzintla was absolutely gorgeous! Alejandro was very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this tour!
