Sachsenhausen var det första specialbyggda koncentrationslägret, skapat som ett centrum för terror, förföljelse och systematisk brutalitet. Ta tåget från vår mötesplats nära S+U Friedrichstraße till Oranienburg. Oranienburg är staden där det tidigare koncentrationslägret byggdes.

It was helpful to have a guide to get there and provide context beforehand. Our guide Xavier did great answering questions and helping us navigate the experience and space as well as the journey back. I would note that it is very important for the guides for there to be no note taking or recording of the tour in any way other than photos of the sites as is appropriate.
Xavier as a guide was excellent in recounting what had taken place at this camp. He pitched this terrible story in my opinion at the right level, ie sympathetically, without downplaying anything that had taken place.

Great tour, but take plenty of water. No services other than WC at camp. Guides were very helpful purchasing train tickets.
