A must-do experience in Berat! This was one of the highlights of our time in Albania. The cooking class was so much more than just learning how to make traditional dishes — we were welcomed into their home, met their wonderful family, and got to learn about Albanian culture, history, and traditions in such a genuine way. The food was delicious, but what made this experience truly special was the warmth and hospitality. We felt like we were spending time with friends rather than just attending a cooking class. It was such a beautiful way to connect with local life and understand more about Albania’s traditions. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Berat — it’s something we will remember for a long time.

The experience was exceptional, from the moment we were picked up in the centre of town until we left Edison's family home about four hours later. Edison's wife and grandmother helped to demonstrate the traditional cooking techniques and then we would try and follow suit. Predictably my two teenage kids were much better than me. I blame the Raki and delicious red wine which were liberally dispensed throughout the evening. The piece de la resistance was eating the fruits of our labour at the end of the evening while pleasantly pickled. It's an unmissable 10 out of 10 experience.

This very welcoming family opens their home to offer you a wonderful experience. You cook some traditional dishes together with the whole family. They explain you step by step how to do everything. While cooking you get a smooth chat, wine, tastings... . Before you start, you will be offered a nice taste of coffee and 2 types of raki. You explore their garden and succeed some fruits. The family works with fresh products and gives you a homely feeling throughout the workshop. We also learned some traditional albanian dance steps. If you are staying in Berat, be sure to book a cooking class with this wonderful and welcoming family! You don't just go home with a full stomach, you go home with a full heart.

We had an amazing time during this cooking class. We learned how to prepare Byrek, Kofte and stuffed eggplant using fresh ingredients, with great guidance from the hosts. The atmosphere was warm and friendly and everyone made us feel very welcome. It was such a nice way to meet new people and experience Albanian culture through food. We would definitely recommend it!

My Husband and I had a wonderful night learning how to cook Albanian food. We were welcomed with Turkish coffee and Raki followed by very good wine. The family was really kind and patient with us. The father's daughter was super helpful in teaching us how to roll the dough and took lots of pictures and videos for us. We ate all together in their garden and talked until the sun went down. All ingredients in the food are fresh and homemade. Highly recommend this tour if you are looking to learn Albanian culture and have a very authentic personable experience in Berat with a local family

This will be a highlight of your trip if you enjoy food and learning about a country through local knowledge and stories. From start to finish it was so easy as we contacted Edison directly through WhatsApp. He is able to tell you what is available and for us it was whether they would be able to accommodate for vegans (I am vegan and my partner is not). He quickly told us that he could and we paid card at their office which was so convenient. When we got the local family home his brother in law, Cimi and mother, Merita, greeted us with raki and Turkish coffee. The cooking class itself was hands on and I felt like I was home. All the ingredients are locally sourced and will depend on the season. We absolutely loved this experience and feel it’s a MUST when you visit Berat.
