Magnifika tempel i Belur och Halebidu är höjdpunkten av den unika "Hoysala"-konsten och arkitekturen. Templen Belur och Halebid ger en glimt av hinduisk tempelkonst när den är som bäst på 1500-talet. Templen är kända för sina sniderier och fantastiska arkitektur. Hoysalas förbättrades jämfört med de tidigare megaimperiet i Calukyas som är kända för att bygga extremt utsmyckade tempel i många delar av Karnataka, kända för skulpturerna i väggarna, taken, böjda pelare och många fler. De Hoysalas följde dravidisk stil, vesara-arkitekturstil och satte ändå sina spår genom att lägga till sin egen unika form av arkitektur i tempelbyggnaden.

Tidig morgon hämtas från ditt hotell i Bangalore och körs till Belur. Chennakeshava-templet i Belur byggdes på order av "Vishnuvadhana" Hoysala-kungen själv för att fira en viktig militär seger 1117 AD mot Cholas i slaget vid Talakad. kungen ville ha ett extraordinärt tempel och har byggts i en arkitektonisk stil (Hoysala Style) som var ny för regionen. Monumentet är exceptionellt stort och dess utsmyckning är mycket påkostad. Dekorationerna för detta tempel fortsatte fortfarande efter kungen av hans olika efterträdare under en tidsperiod på nästan 103 år.
Staden Halebidu var då känd som Dwarasamudra (porten till haven). Höjden av Hoysalans konst och arkitektur ärvs i templet Hoysaleshvara i Halebidu. Templet är tillägnat Lord Shiva. Också mittemot templet finns en stor staty av Nandi. Det tog mer än åttio år att bygga delvis och lämnades ofullbordat. Templet är rikt utsmyckat med de mest intrikat sniderier. Vägginskriptionerna inkluderar oändliga visningar av gudar, människor, djur och bilder av krig, jakt, musik och dans. Till sist kör vi tillbaka till Bangalore för att avsluta denna dagslånga turné

Fascinating Heritage which can be explored in a day from Bangalore!. Comfortable pickup on time and then you are taken to the breathtaking temples of "Hoysala" era. The finely crafted temple pillars make you certainly wonder whether the temples are machine lathe cut!

My wife and I had an excellent experience working with Mr. Jai Singh. We were staying at a hotel not mentioned in his list of pick up sites, but Mr. Singh promptly responded to our request and had his driver pick us up at our hotel for a nominal charge. It's a pure historical place and paradise for art and sculpture loving people. Its the temple made by Hoyasala dinesty way back of more than one thousand years! Once Belur was their capital also. It is 20 km from Hassan city and 175 km from Bangalore. KSRTC bus services to cover all these places(including Sravanbelagola as Jain temple) are there in a day trip.
