I really enjoyed the food tour! The food was very good. Aaron was knowledgeable and very professional! Will do the tour again the next time I visit Belize City.
Our tour guide Kenton (hope I spelled that correctly) was great. We had a mess trying to get off our ship but he waited and communicated with us. He did a great tour and made sure we didn’t miss our last tender. We ate fresh fruit, tacos, empanadas, Tostitos, ice cream, and sampled rum. Loved the panty ripper. It’s a must. Kenton answered all our questions and made any stop we wanted for photo ops. We had a great day.
This is a really good tour to take and the touring company is great. There’s so much food “bites” that you cannot eat it all. “Kendrick” was absolutely the best guide and we loved him. He treated us with kindness and we loved talking to him.
Melva was amazing so personable. I would recommend her and this tour.
We had no clue what to do in Belize because everything was so far off so we decided to so this bits and bites tour. Kenton was absolutely AMAZING. He was funny, very knowledgeable, and just great to be around. He showed us all around the city and told us facts about everywhere we went. We even seen parts of the city most tours wont show. On top of that, you get some pretty good food. We stopped and got fruit, empanadas, rolled tacos, coconut water, rum at a distillery, and ice cream. We got to stop at the Belize sign and take pictures as well. We had such a great time.
My boyfriend and I loved this excursion. We wanted to taste different foods from around Belize City and we got to go during a holiday so not a lot of things were open. Our guide still made the best of it and introduced us to some amazing tasting local foods. He even asked for homemade hot sauce when I told him I love spicy food. This was definitely my boyfriend's favorite excursion as he wasn't sure what he'd be eating but he liked everything and had a great time. As did I! Thank you!
Aaron did a great job on this tour. We got local food (fish empanadas and chicken items x2). In addition, we had an ice cream treat! The tour was very small which made it have a private feel. Aaron assisted us with getting some local currency. He was very knowledgeable. His tour offered a glimpse into “local” life in Belize.
The experience was great a lot of knowledge about the country and we got to see the good the bad and the truth about the locals. Kenton was our tour guide, kudos to him!!! We got to experience treats and good food!!! The rum tasting was good as well. It was a family friendly experience!
Andres was a wonderful host! He took six of us all around Belize City from affluent neighborhoods to a shantytown with mostly newer immigrants. He told stories and gave us history along with local eats. We are visiting on Holy Week and the day of a huge bike race across the country. So he amended and adjusted. We stoped for tropical fruit, fresh coconut water, Belize BBQ meals (Saturday tradition!) and delicious pastries. Everything was local and delish! Unique experience with a true local. The best part was our picnic lunch at his families home!
Belize is a poorer country so your ride will not be in a modern vehicle for this particular trip, however this added to the realism of all of the people in Belize. Temperature can be warm to hot if you are not used to tropical climatology. Our van was air conditioned and comfortable nonetheless. A small fan may be helpful for those not used to heat. My wife and I really enjoyed our 2.5 hour trip around the city. Canton our tour guide was a life long proud resident of Belize City. He offered a real insight into the history, livelihood and culture of the various communities that we visited. We really enjoyed all of the "bites" that we stopped for. They were all local neighborhood food stands. He obviously picked the best ones. We had fresh mango, pineapple and watermelon on our 1st stop. Next with our belly full of fresh local fruit it was off to the local rum factory for several different tastings. The Coconut Rum was great and I would suggest the "Panty Ripper" which is a Coconut rum with mango and pineapple juice. We purchased several bottles of rum and liquor. I found the prices and the history of the rum factory to be great. We next stopped at one of Cantons favorite food vendors. We had taquitos, fish empanadas, plaintan chips and 1 other chicken stuffed item that I forgot the name off. You won't go hungry and the flavors of all of these fresh made items were just awesome to me. You eat on plates provide by Canton while you drive the city all while he points out the various lifestyles, living conditions and local landmarks. I would say that this tour was very educational, enjoyable and just a very realistic look at live in this diverse city. I would highly recommend the tour. You will not find a more interesting trip for the price. The walk from the tender port is short and you can kill time shopping at the various port souvenir stores. Dont waste your time or money on the local marketers selling 1 hour city tours. Go with 5 Star they are on point, friendly and very accommodating. Ask for Canton he was just the best!
