Belém är en av den portugisiska huvudstadens ex-libris, platsen varifrån sjömännen från 1600-talet började sina resor till den nya världen. Denna tur börjar med en spårvagnsresa och inkluderar guidade besök i Jerónimos-klostret, Carriage Museum och Monument of Discovers (exteriör).

National Coach Museum samlar en unik samling av bussar i världen. Från 1500- till 1800-talet finns några av de äldsta bussarna i världen här.
Klassad av Unesco som världsarv. Jerónimos-klostret är en av den portugisiska och europeiska arkitekturens landvinningar och bekräftar samtidigt det unika med dess eget konstnärliga uttryck, den manuelinska arkitekturen och dess inskription på den internationella gotiska bakgården. Denna storslagna religiösa byggnad förknippades historiskt med de tidiga sjömännen som upptäcktsresande eftersom det var härifrån som de portugisiska navigatörerna började sin resa till den nya världen.
Med 52 meter högt är Monument to the Discoveries en hyllning till alla portugiser som deltog i den stora sjöresan på 1400- och 1500-talen.
Konditoriet Belém är där du kan smaka på de mest kända bakverken i landet. Invigdes 1837 och återskapade Beléms bakverk varje dag efter ett gammalt recept från Jerónimos-klostret. Ett av de stora kulinariska underverken i Portugal, den kaneldammade pastellen av nata (vaniljsåspastell), med sin flagnande skorpa och krämiga centrum.

Half a day in the area of Bethlehem with a lot to appreciate and learn from the Alcides. Visit to the new museum of the Coches, priority entry to the pastels of Bethlehem and visit to the monastery of Jerónimos.
This is our First time to Portugal and Alcides was an Amazing tour guide. His knowledge of gothic and classical architecture, the names of the architects and the general knowledge of the city's history made the Belem experience one of the highlights of our Vacation. We also got VIP treatment at Pastéis de Belem and got to skip ahead in the line for pastries and coffee! The Coach Museum was also a unique experience and definitely worth the visit. I also rather enjoyed the trip back to the hotel through the narrow streets of Chiado. His maneuvering of the person passenger van was rather skillful and impressive! We are coming back through Lisbon at the end of our Vacation and may call Alcides to schedule a trip to Fatima and Nazaré. All in all a 5 star rating
Alcido our tour guide is fantastic. we board a tram so we truly experienced Lisbon! the cathedral is beautiful beyond words and he expertly described the details and history. The Belem pastry at Belem pasteria is excellent and part of our tour! Yummy. do not miss this! the Coach Museum with antigue carriage coaches is impressive - any car enthusiast and non-car enthusiast would love this museum.
The tour was wonderful, Portugal is beautiful, my guide Mr. Alcides flower was impeccable, very experienced and kind made our stay unforgettable. The highlight was the Pastel of Bethlehem in Bethlehem, there is no better in the world...
