Gå runt den glittrande sjön till Oishi Park. Oishi Park är hem för fält av blommor som sprider sig som en matta längs sjöstranden. Du vill definitivt ta ut din kamera. Det här är en härlig plats att andas in i den friska luften på Japans landsbygd och låta utsikten slappna av.
Kubota Itchiku var en känd konstnär som återupplivade den traditionella tygfärgningstekniken Tsujigahana. Tsujigahana blomstrade under Muromachi-perioden (1336-1573) men föll sedan i favör. På 1930-talet blev han fascinerad av silkfärgning och ägnade sitt liv åt att behärska Tsujigahana-tekniken. Längs Kawaguchikos stränder står ett museum som ägnas åt honom, med flera av hans vackraste kimonokreationer. Du kan se hans oavslutade mästerverk "Symphony of Light", ett stycke bestående av 80 kimonos som tillsammans bildar en bild av Mount Fuji. Byggnaderna själva såväl som trädgården är också intressanta. Byggnaderna är gjorda av Okinawan korall och kalksten och byggda på Gaudi-sätt, medan trädgårdarna designades av Itchiku Kubota själv och sträcker sig från ingångsporten långt in i de trädbevuxna sluttningarna bakom museibyggnaderna. Mycket av trädgården är inte tillgängligt för rullstol, men du kan fortfarande njuta av museets inomhusutställningar och utomhusarkitekturen. (* museet är stängt på tisdagar utom i oktober / november så tisdagsturerna kommer istället att se Kawaguchiko Music Forest)
En liten by med åtta fjädrar fyllda med hisnande blått vatten och vördade som "gudarnas källor", där pilgrimer brukade rena sig i källorna. Vattnet kommer från snösmältningen från Mt. Fuji själv och utsågs till världsarv tillsammans med Mt.Fuji 2013.

Keita guided our great day trip from Tokyo to Mt. Fuji area. He was friendly and adaptable to my brother's needs (he uses a manual tilt 18"x 16" wheelchair). Kei was able to outline for us of the places that had wheelchair accessible bathrooms, and gave options of what we could access with a wheelchair. Alternatives were provided as my brother could not transfer out of his personal wheelchair to the museum wheelchair. When we were doubtful about getting down the steep ramp to the boat dock for the lake boat trip, Kei reassured us that the boat company staff had assisted others in a wheelchair and they successfully got him down and back up the ramp. Kei was knowledgeable about Mt. Fuji and surrounding area. The wheelchair accessible van was adequate for our needs (fit the wheelchair, and 3 passengers at the back). The tour did not include the boat trip price (1000 yen per ticket) nor lunch. We would recommend Kei for an accessible day trip to Mt. Fuji from Tokyo. Just let him know what your needs are and he can outline what your options are!

They had a wheelchair vehicle that could accommodate our son and met us at our hotel in Tokyo to take us to Mount Fuji for the day. Keita was a wonderful guide and was very friendly, helpful and informative. We had a wonderful day with a boat trip, tempura meal and various sites to explore. Highly recommended.

Great trip - I’m a fulltime wheelchair user and guide was very considerate and knowledgeable about what I could see and do. Even though Mt Fuji was covered by clouds the day we went it was still an awesome day and greeat to get out of Tokyo for the day.

Rie was absolutely an incredible host/guide. We had such a great experience and she and the driver took care of us at every step along the journey. She customized everything to our preferences and we enjoyed learning about the history of Japan and Mount Fuji. If you are in a wheelchair or have someone in your party who needs one, this is the tour for you. I would request Rie as she is the best!!!!
