The trip went well getting to and from Montserrat. We liked the cog wheel ride up the mountain. Amazing how they could cut the mountain for that train. We loved going to see the Black Madonna although we only had a brief period before her. Could feel her presence. We had a half hour and more to look around and get a bite to eat. It was very pretty on top of the mountains in Montserrat. We wondered at the time, hard work, and devotion it took to build that whole community. Very good trip. Excellent bus driver both ways to and from.
Lesly was an excellent guide!! Her knowledge was superior. She was friendly. She was witty. She made the tour very very enjoyable. This tour is a must do when you’re in Barcelona do not miss.

We booked our tour via GetYourGuide. Overall experience was excellent! There was some little logistic problems, but Alberto (our amazing guide) communicated with us clearly and came up with solutions which we all agreed on. Alberto is very professional and easy going. Our guide Ivan told us the history of Barcelona and Montserrat in an interesting and entertaining way. We had a lot of freedom during the visit to Montserrat. Their punctuality in departure and arrival should not be underestimated.

What a wonderful way to spend the day for a short day trip out of Barcelona. Our tour guides, Yerai, was charming, witty, and insightful as he led us and the rest of our tour group through a very comfortable bus ride to Montserrat along with an absolutely masterful guide to Catalonian history in ten minutes. Our bus ride took us to the base of Montserrat to board the funicular railway for a ride to the top with breathtaking views. Our tour included a short walking tour of the monastery and facilities of Montserrat, including viewing the black Madonna in the basilica, and time to browse the shops or get a bite at one of the two large cafeterias. This was followed by a journey to the other side of the serrated tops past the convent and to a historic, local winery. There we enjoyed local tapas and delicious wine tastings. Despite the summer heat, the winery and the bus were cool and pleasant.
