Börja din morgon med de förtjusande smakerna av traditionella grekiska pajer. Träffas på Syntagma Square, där du kommer att introduceras till en mängd olika pajer, inklusive den älskade spanakopita, fylld med spenat och fetaost. Detta kommer att vara en perfekt start på dagen och ge dig en smak av den lokala frukosten.
Bara en kort promenad från pajbutiken besöker vi en lokal deli känd för sitt breda utbud av grekiska ostar och krämig grekisk yoghurt. Här får du lära dig om osttillverkningsprocessen i Grekland och smaka på olika typer av fetaost, tillsammans med andra regionala ostar, tillsammans med rik, autentisk grekisk yoghurt.
När vi tar oss till det livliga Monastiraki-området, förbered din smak för ett sortiment av pastourma och traditionella grekiska kallskuret. Du kommer att uppleva de robusta smakerna och kryddorna som gör dessa kött till en stapelvara i det grekiska köket.

Innan vi går till ditt nästa matstopp dyker vi in i den livliga atmosfären på Atens centralmarknad. Här kommer du att bevittna den livliga handeln med färskvaror, kött och fisk, och få en känsla av det dagliga livet för atenska shoppare och handlare.
Till lunch njuter vi av hemlagade grekiska recept på ett traditionellt matställe. Njut av ett urval av rätter tillagade med färska, lokala råvaror, vilket ger dig en sann smak av grekisk husmanskost.
För att avsluta vår turné, promenerar vi till den bohemiska stadsdelen Psiri. We did this tour on our first day in Greece and what an amazing experience it was! Our guide Sapfo was awesome! She’s friendly, kind as ver knowledgeable. She took us to places we may have missed on our own but were still able to find afterwards. We were stuffed by the middle of the tour but we really felt like we experienced Greek food. We sampled so many things that we were able to eat throughout our vacation. Thank you Sapfo! I’m so glad you were our guide. I’ll miss Greece but I plan to take as many foods with me as I can! This experience exceeded our expectations!

My guide Elias was terrific! He shared some history of Athens and Greece while walking to the various food venues and the market. The variety and quality of the food was outstanding. I loved seeing the various interesting neighborhoods. Great experience!!!

I booked and then they canceled on me I have yet to receive a refund Why would they let me book and then tell me they were full and I was canceled and then continue to send me emails to attend and then ask me to review trip they told me not to attend?!
The group was a good size, less than 10 people. The tour was 4 hours; we walked at a suitable pace, with many stops to hear and taste. I started the tour without breakfast at 10 am, and I was more than full by the end. We tasted pasties, cheese, sausages, ham, had a good lunch, and tasty cakes for dessert. Mini is an excellent host, very knowledgeable and friendly. We got a lot of information about Greek culture, traditions, history and of course about the food. She gave us some good tips on what to do in Athens and nearby. For me, it is very important to have a native host. Mini told us about her family traditions through the generations. I suggest the Greeking.me organised food tour for all Athens visitors.

This was one of the best tours I have taken. The young lady was very knowledgeable about the city and had good stories about the different places we stopped at. There was a lot of food to try.

Really wonderful experience. Eleni was knowledgeable and the food was delicious. We did go to places we never would have found on our own and we loved the extensiveness of this tour. We also learned a lot about Athens and Greece. We appreciated her knowledge and upbeat personality. It was such a pleasant experience. We also appreciated that there was no pressure to buy anything and this was not a commercial tour. The restaurant staff and shop keepers were just friendly and welcoming not trying to sell (we have been on other tours that were hard sells and did not like that). However, if we had wanted to buy something, like honey or olives, we could have --to take home. Great tour, highly recommend.
