Upptäck Aten i en 8 - timmars privat upplevelse utformad för att visa födelseplatsen för Western Civilization i komfort och stil med en professionell Engelska talande förare. Börja på den ikoniska Akropolis i Aten, följt av den legendariska Panathenaic Stadium och kör förbi templet Olympian Zeus. Fortsätt till Syntagmatorget för att bevittna vaktombytet framför det grekiska parlamentet, beundra sedan Atens akademis neoklassiska elegans. Stig upp på Mount Lycabettus för panoramautsikt över staden innan du njuter av en traditionell lunch i den historiska stadsdelen Plaka. Greklands mest kända monument som hyser Atens stolthet och kronjuvel, Parthenon. Parthenon är tillägnad stadens gamla beskyddare, Athena – visdomens gudinna, och anses globalt vara en bestående symbol för demokrati, kultur och civilisation. Inrymt på toppen och i omgivningen av den heliga klippan finns några av de viktigaste platserna i huvudstadens antika arv, såsom: Propyléer, ingången till klippan. Segertemplet utan vingar, som var tillägnat gudinnan Athena-Nike. Erechtheum, med templets mest kända kännetecken är dess södra veranda, vars tak, i stället för att stödjas på kolonner, vilade på huvudena av sex Koraistatyer - de berömda Caryatides. Herodes Atticus Odeon, en romersk teater med 5000 platser i sten som höggs in i klippan och fortfarande används för musikfestivaler Teatern i Dionysos där atenarna lyssnade till Sofokles, Aischylos, Euripides och Aristofanes odödliga verk.
Vi fortsätter vår tur genom att passera Olympiska Zeustemplet – kung av grekiska Pantheon. Det nu halvruinerade templet, som också kallas Olympieion, var på sin topp bestående av 104 kolonner av 17 meter hög och 2 m i diameter!
Efter besöket i templet kommer vi att göra ett kort stopp på Panathenaic Stadium, även känd som Kallimarmaro, en multi-purpose stadium, där den första moderna OS hölls 1896. Intressant fakta! Panathenaic Stadium, även känd som Kalimarmaro, är den enda stadion i världen som byggdes helt i marmor.
Nästa stopp blir det grekiska parlamentet – en byggnad som ursprungligen byggdes med syftet att vara Ottos palats, Greklands första kung.
Utanför parlamentsbyggnaden finns den okände soldatens grav, som vaktas av presidentens vakt. Denna lätta infanterienhet, klädd i den traditionella Evzone uniform, genomför en berömd förändring av vaktceremonin.
Vi kommer sedan att köra längs Panepistimiou Street som förbinder Constitution (Syntagma) Square med Concord (Omonia) Square. Under denna korta bilresa i hjärtat av huvudstaden kommer du att stöta på tre vackra byggnader: Akademin, universitetet och Nationalbiblioteket. Intressant fakta! Dessa tre herrgårdar byggdes på 1800-talet och kallas vanligen för Atens ”nyklassiska trilogi”.
Vår körsession fortsätter med ett stopp vid Lycabettus Hill, en av stadens högsta utsiktsplatser, som erbjuder en av de bästa panoramautsikterna över centrala Aten och dess förorter.
Efter att ha njutit av utsikten kommer du att äta lunch på en traditionell grekisk restaurang, som smakar äkta grekisk mat med sina unika medelhavsegenskaper. Vi fortsätter utforskandet av staden och beger oss till den äldsta och mest kända delen av staden, Plaka-distriktet. Plaka är känt för sina pittoreska gator fyllda med neoklassiska byggnader och små butiker, och är ett område av intresse för både turister och lokalbefolkningen.
Strosa genom den vackra stadsdelen, kommer du att stöta på både den romerska och den antika atenska Agora. agoran ansågs vara hjärtat och själen i Aten under stadens höjdpunkt, med rollen som ett affärsmässigt, politiskt och juridiskt centrum. Numera, ett stort öppet område med gamla ruiner och grönska, lockar Agora mer än en halv miljon internationella besökare årligen på grund av de viktiga monument som den rymmer. Två av de mest anmärkningsvärda höjdpunkterna i Agora är: I. Hefaistostemplet, ett tempel från 400-talet f.Kr. tillägnat Hefaistos – metallbearbetningens, hantverkets och eldens Gud – som i stort sett är intakt. & II. Stoa av Attalos, en stoa (täckt gångväg) byggd av och uppkallad efter kung Attalos II av Pergamon.
Det nya Akropolismuseet öppnade 2009 och ligger under Akropolis södra sluttning. Museet innehåller mestadels pedimentskulpturer, reliefer och statyer som finns på den heliga klippan, som formade dess utsmyckning. Akropolismuseet visar över 4 000 utställningar och anses vara ett av de bästa och mest betydelsefulla museerna i världen.

Upphämtning på flygplatsen: Din chaufför möter dig vid ankomsten till Atens internationella flygplats - “Eleftherios Venizelos”, vid tullutfarten, med en H.P. Rundturer skylt med ditt namn på. Hamnhämtning: Din chaufför möter dig vid kryssningsterminalen i Pireus hamn med en H.P. Rundturer skylt med ditt namn på. Observera att Pireus hamn har tre terminaler, terminal A, B och C. Beroende på vilken terminal ditt fartyg kommer att lägga till vid, kommer din chaufför att vänta på dig vid motsvarande utgång. (t.ex. om ditt fartyg lägger till vid terminal A, kommer din chaufför att möta dig vid terminal A utgång etc.) Om ditt fartyg lägger till vid terminal B eller terminal C och motsvarande utgångsgate är stängd måste du ta bussen för att komma till terminal A (3 MIN RIDE), där din chaufför väntar på dig.

Our guide Helen was knowledgeable, professional and kind and she worked well with our driver Ocean to show us highlights in Athens such as the Acropolis, Acropolis Museum, Parliament changing of the guards, Olympic Stadium, Athens highest point and richest neighborhood, the Agora and a wonderful local restaurant for lunch. It was a perfect day and they made the experience easy and organized.

We had a fantastic tour through the Museum and historic sights! Lastly the ladies got in some downtown shopping! Our driver was great and our guide very knowledgeable!

Thanks Frank (The owner), George and Jimmy (his Greek name is Dimitri by the way - our Driver & Guide) for arranging the best Athens tour! We booked a 2day tour (Athens city tour and outside Athens Tour) with them. Check them out in TripAdvisor! They have excellent 5/5 stars review.. if you don't book with them, you are missing out for sure! Also, forgot to mention, our photographer Vicky & her team from Santorini for recommending H.P. tours! She is excellent too for Santorini day tours and especially the flying dress shots.. check them out in TripAdvisor as well for their 5/5 stars reviews.. Frank was awesome! We really enjoyed our private tour in Athens with him. Since we were coming off a cruise ship, our time was limited, and Frank helped us make the most of it. By the end of the tour, it felt like Frank was part of our group. He was very personable, easy to talk to, and had a wealth of knowledge about the history of Greece and Athens.
