Sightseeing i Aten börjar med Akropolis kulle som gör din dag. På den historiska kullen har du möjlighet att se Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Athena Nike-templet, den monumentala porten (Propylaea), Erechtheum och naturligtvis den berömda Parthenon, huvudtemplet tillägnad den jungfru gudinnan Athena .
Propylaea är de monumentala ingångarna till det heliga området tillägnad Athena, stadens beskyddargudinna. Byggd av arkitekten Mnesicles med pentelmarmor, var deras design avantgarde. Sydväst om Propylaea, vid en vall som skyddar huvudingången till Akropolis, ligger det joniska templet Apteros Nike.
Parthenon, huvudtemplet tillägnad den jungfru gudinnan Athena. Den eviga symbolen för den ateniska demokratin och den västra civilisationen.

Teatern Dionysus Elefthereus är en stor teater i Aten, anses vara världens första teater, byggd vid foten av den ateniska Akropolis.
Odeon of Herodes Atticus är en romersk teaterstruktur i sten belägen på sydvästra sluttningen av Akropolis i Aten, Grekland. Byggnaden färdigställdes 161 e.Kr. och renoverades sedan 1950.
Efter Akropolis åker vi mot Zeus-templet, det största antiken i templet, tillägnad Guds kung, via Hadrians båge.
Vi besöker Panathenaic Stadium där de första moderna olympiska spelen hölls 1896.
Sedan flyttar vi in i stadens historiska centrum och kör upp Athens högsta kulle, Lycabettus Hill, där du har den bästa panoramautsikten över staden, från Akropolis kulle till Egeiska havet.
Det grekiska parlamentet, på grekiska som kallas Voulí ton Ellínon, är Greklands parlament, beläget i Gamla kungliga palatset, med utsikt över Syntagma-torget i Aten. Parlamentet är den högsta demokratiska institutionen som representerar medborgarna genom ett valt organ av parlamentsledamöter.
Vi kommer att se bytet av vakten (Euzones) framför det gamla palatset, som idag är parlamentshuset, ovanför det centrala torget i Aten.
Syntagma-torget är det centrala torget i Aten. Torget är uppkallad efter konstitutionen som Otto, den första kungen av Grekland, var skyldig att bevilja efter ett folkligt och militärt uppror den 3 september 1843.
Akademibyggnaden utgör en av tre delar i en ”arkitektonisk trilogi”. Det grundades med det konstitutionella dekretet av 18 mars 1926, som en akademi för vetenskaper, humaniora och konst.
National and Kapodistrian University of Athens är den största statliga institutionen för högre utbildning i Grekland, och bland de största universiteten i Europa. Det fantastiska Aten-universitetet designades av den danska arkitekten Christian Hansen och slutfördes 1864.
Nationalbiblioteket i Grekland byggdes i slutet av 1800-talet, som den sista av den arkitektoniska trilogin i Aten, en grupp av tre neoklassiska byggnader som också inkluderar akademin och universitetet. Byggnaden ritades av Theophil Hansen.
Glyfada är en förort i södra Aten där sommarnattlivet och berömda stränder ligger.

Förutom det unika läget och det arkeologiska intresset är Cape Sounio också känt för sin hisnande solnedgång och utsikt över de grekiska öarna. Det betraktas som en av de mest romantiska platserna i Grekland. Platsen Lord Byron skrev om och värdesatt.

We, a family of three including a teenager, spent a couple nights in Athens after visiting the islands. We only had one full day to see the city and the nearby sights so we booked this particular tour and boy! did we make the perfect decision. Dimitris, our private guide and driver, was an absolute professional. He was very warm and welcoming. He picked us on time, took us to all the must-see places covered in the itinerary and amazingly, he is a human encyclopedia on Greek history and mythology. He explained the minute historical details of all the places along the way and we really enjoyed the ride and his company. The admission fee to the Acropolis and the Temple of Poseidon was covered in the tour. It was pouring heavily on the day but Dimitris didn't let that dampen our spirits and he kept us engaged throughout the trip and provided valuable tidbits about Greek mythology. He offered us water, stopped for coffees, took photos, explained the history, he just catered to all our needs selflessly. I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Athens and if you're lucky, Dimitris will be a fantastic guide.

Stefanos was amazing. We had a wonderful day. We loved the tour and Stefanos brought so much culture an information to every activity. We did a morning and afternoon tour to the Acropolis and Parthenon and Poseidon's Temple with the most amazing sunset in the evening. I highly recommend this tour. There was a wildfire when we were here and the communication was amazing as well as the service. Just wear your walking shoes!!

Stefanos was prompt, met us at the port in his nice clean car & took us to all the major highlights including the changing of the guard at the Presidential palace & drove all the way to the Posiedon temple. We ate at a wonderful seaside restaurant & ate a traditional Greek lunch. Wonderful! Stefanos was full of energy & knew all the history of the area. I would strongly recommend this trip! The only thing I might do differently next time is when you enter the Acropolis you can hire a guide to give you the details as you go. Stefanos was not able to go in with us. He gives you a little over an hour to do it on your own & tells you about everything beforehand but it was still overwhelming & I think it would have been nice to have someone walking it with us & pointing out details.
