Turen startar från ditt hotell, en chans att tillbringa en härlig dag utanför Rom för att besöka Umbrien, en av de mest pittoreska regionerna i Italien rik på vingårdar, olivträd och de berömda kullebyarna. En av de mest kända är Assisi, en UNESCO: s världsarvslista. Den mystiska staden Saint Francis, omgiven av sina gamla murar, byggdes på de gröna sluttningarna av berget Subasio och med sina färgglada hus av sten, smala gator, blommande balkonger och ädla palats ger vackra vyer för minnesvärda bilder (glöm inte din kamera ). Ett intressant besök i St. Franciskusbasilikan, med sina tidiga renässansmästerverk av Giotto och Cimabue, och basilikan Santa Maria degli Angeli. Dags för lunch på en typisk restaurang (valfritt) och sedan fortsätter turen till Orvieto, där du kan beundra ett mästerverk av gotisk arkitektur med en glittrande fasad av målat glas, mosaiker och skulpturer. Njut av Orvietos charm och utforska stadens centrum och sedan tillbaka till Rom.

Ett intressant besök på St. Francis-basilikan med sina tidiga renässansmästerverk av Giotto och Cimabue och basilikan Santa Maria degli Angeli. Basilika av Saint Mary of the Angels, Efter Saint Francis död i 1226 byggde friarerna flera små hytter runt Porziuncola. I 1230 tillsattes en refektory och några angränsande byggnader. Under tiden lades lite portikaler och boende för kransarna runt Porziuncola. Några grundval av dessa upptäcktes under utgrävningar under golvet i den nuvarande basilikan mellan 1967 och 1969. Elisabetta was a wonderful guide and when she handed us off to Victoria at the entrance to Assisi, the trip went up a notch. I have personally been there two times before and did not have as thorough an explanation for all of the artistry as I did this time. We were comfortable in the car ride and there was only four of us for the day trip so it was very personalized. I would not hesitate to recommend it 100%.

Fantastic Day in Assisi! Juliana and her driver were the best! Picked up my wife and me at 7 a.m. at our hotel and headed out for a great day in Assisi. Juliana was a wonderful guide - very thoughtful and allowed us to move at our own pace. In Assisi, we had a guide who walked us through the town and churches - explaining everything in detail. After a nice lunch, we stopped by Orvieto for a brief tour. Beautiful church. Highly recommend this tour and Juliana!

A most enjoyable tour with an excellent guide, Antoinette, and rich content. Information provided was clear and interesting, and delivered well. The pace of the day was carefully managed. We never felt rushed but the program timing was maintained and we returned to Rome as scheduled.
