A hidden gem of a museum. Definitely worth a visit even if you are only remotely interested in cameras. The lady, May, who showed us around was passionate and so knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend
had a great experience and theres many new information we got.the staff is very friendly and helpful open to help us take pictures from the old cameras
Tour guide was super passionate and knowledgeable. The best part was having an interactive experience looking through the old cameras and taking phone photos through functional old cameras giving really cool retro vibes! The museum is on Armenian street in the top portion that seems a bit quieter than the rest but don’t miss this gem of an experience!
Really enjoyed our visit. The lady working there was a wealth of knowledge. Great museum which has so many cameras through the ages to view.
This is an excellent visit for people keen on photography and cameras. The lady guide is knowledgeable and helpful and gets you involved with taking some photos using your phone and some very old equipment. Recommended visit in KL!!
This is a hidden gem in the touristy heart of George Town. The museum is clearly a passion project and you can't help but get caught up in the enthusiasm of the curators. All visitors join a tour and are guided through the history of cameras. There's a wide range of exhibits and throughout the tour you are encouraged to use some of them to create your own unique photos with your phone. The museum is small and you are likely to only need an hour or less for your visit so no excuse not to visit.
Went in on a whim as we were passing by and we were so happy that we decided to check this place out. The tour guide (May) was lovely and so passionate it made the tour really special. The stuff inside the museum was really cool too. I’d definitely recommend it if you have any interest in photography.
A small camera museum that you must have seen. The entrance fee is fine. The owner May is very nice and has conducted a guided tour about the origins of cameras.
Amazing museum. Was given a tour around but the lovely woman who works there. She was so informative and enthusiastic as well as giving general suggestions for things to do around Penang. She was truly the highlight of my visit!
This place has all the elements to become a good attraction for the city. The topic is fascinating and the collection is worth seeing. You will experience a darkroom, and having pictures taken with your camera of images taken from the collection’s cameras, nice trick. They have a camera obscura, cameras for cinematography, a portrait camera with studio set up, and you get to see large and medium format cameras as well as SLRs and digital ones. Donations of old cameras are accepted. The guide was charming and knowledgeable.
