Detta magnifika lejon låg ursprungligen på toppen av den stora graven vid Amphipolis och flyttades någon gång i det förflutna till sin nuvarande plats, flera km. bort från gravplatsen.
Den antika staden Filippi hittades av Alexanders den store far, där vi ska besöka basilikan, teatern, Forum Romanum, cellen där aposteln Paulus fängslades men också Octagon Church - den första kirstiska kyrkan i Europa.
Efter den arkeologiska fyndplatsen fortsätter ni till Baptisteri Saint Lydia, som ligger i en lugn naturmiljö vid floden Zygaktis. Den är tillägnad den första kvinnan i Europa som döptes av aposteln Paulus, som symboliserar kristendomens början i Europa. Ett andligt betydelsefullt stopp som kompletterar besöket i Philippi.

Great day after scheduling mix up in the morning. Visillis was a great host and would recommend him to anyone. All of the stops were interesting and enjoyable. If you want to avoid bus tour this is a good option

Adonis our driver was EXCELLENT!!! You know that friend you haven't see in a long time, this is what it felt like being with Adonis! He had a great knowledge of the Bible and brought it to life. He was incredibly friendly and our family had a great time in his company. He recommended an excellent restaurant in Kavala. What a great way to spend the day visiting the archeological site of Philippi and the city of Kavala. We opted to not purchase the tour guide option which turned out just fine. The site offers a download audio guide with admission. Our driver, Antonis, was a gentleman and had a friendly and positive demeanor. The ride was very comfortable. He turned us on to some great Greek music and his lunch recommendation in Kavala was delicious. If you are looking for something outside of a normal tour, with a laid back vibe, I highly recommend.
